Clough: Will assess his players

Derby manager Nigel Clough will assess his players before naming his squad.

The Rams may be nursing a few minor niggles following the game at Blackpool on Wednesday night, where a 1-0 victory meant they started the league season with three consecutive wins for the first time since 1948.

Midfielder James Bailey (ankle) and striker Jamie Ward (hamstring) were doubts in midweek but both started against Ian Holloway's side.

Full-back Gareth Roberts, midfielder Lee Croft and strikers Chris Maguire and Theo Robinson are among those players waiting in the wings should Clough feel the need to freshen things up.

Centre-halves Shaun Barker (knee) and Russell Anderson, midfielder Dave Martin (ankle) and forwards Conor Doyle (ankle) and Nathan Tyson (groin) remain unavailable.

Doncaster boss Sean O'Driscoll has been handed a major boost ahead of the trip after rookie Chelsea striker Milan Lalkovic arrived on a one-month loan deal.

The 18-year-old Slovakian scored the winner for Chelsea's reserves on Monday night in a 3-2 win over Sunderland at Stamford Bridge.

The Slovakia Under-21 international has joined Rovers following injuries to strike trio James Hayter (knee), Billy Sharp (ankle) and Ryan Mason (ankle).

Yet Rovers remain crippled by injury and James O'Connor, James Chambers, Martin Woods, Brian Stock, Adam Lockwood, Shelton Martis and Mark Wilson all remain sidelined.

Stock, O'Connor, Martis and Hayter all trained this week and moved closer towards match fitness but they are not yet ready to be considered for action.
