Zakuani: Will be assessed

New signing Ben Gordon could be in line for his Peterborough debut.

The left-back, 20, joined Posh on loan from Chelsea this week and will be included in Darren Ferguson's squad after arriving too late to be involved against Millwall on Wednesday night.

Fellow defender Gabriel Zakuani will be assessed on Friday after missing the last two matches with a toe problem.

Striker Paul Taylor staked his claim for a start after coming off the bench to make one goal and score the equaliser as Posh came from two goals down to draw 2-2 at Millwall.

Nicky Ajose will remain on the sidelines. The former Manchester United trainee was forced out of the opening-day victory over Crystal Palace after just 27 minutes due to a hamstring injury.

Another striker, Dave Hibbert, and goalkeeper Joe Lewis are still recovering from knee injuries.

Ipswich boss Paul Jewell will be pondering changes to his starting XI.

He was furious after Tuesday's 5-2 home defeat to Southampton, especially with his side's defending after they found themselves three-nil down at the break.

Lee Martin and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas both came on at half-time and made positive contributions, strengthening their claims to start at London Road while the likes of Nathan Ellington must also be in with a shout.

Left-back Aaron Cresswell and central midfielder Grant Leadbitter played a large part of the midweek mauling operating in the wide positions and they could well revert back to their favoured slots to accommodate Martin and Emmanuel-Thomas.

Jewell's cause is not expected to be helped by the likely continued absence of centre-back Ivar Ingimarsson due to a thigh injury.
