Blackburn boss Steve Kean is expecting to have skipper Christopher Samba available for the first time this season.

The central defender has missed the start of the campaign with a groin injury, but is likely to be included after getting a full week of training under his belt.

Ryan Nelsen will undergo a late fitness test on a knee problem, although Grant Hanley is fit after receiving a blow to the head in Wednesday night's Carling Cup victory over Sheffield Wednesday, and Brett Emerton could play his final game for the club before joining Sydney FC.

Diniyar Bilyaletdinov is back in the Everton squad having completed a suspension.

Tim Cahill and Jermaine Beckford could feature after missing the midweek Carling Cup victory over Sheffield United due to sickness and a knee problem respectively.

Seamus Coleman (ankle) and Magaye Gueye (broken toe) remain sidelined.
