Gorkss: Set for his debut

Hull manager Nigel Pearson could be tempted to make changes for his side's clash with the Royals.

The Tigers lost their third home game of the season against Crystal Palace last week and although Pearson has no new injury problems, he has suggested a change in tactics at the KC Stadium

Pearson dropped on-loan Liverpool goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi on Saturday, handing Adriano Basso his league debut, and the latter is hoping to retain his place.

Strikers Aaron Mclean and Dele Adebola are pushing for a return to the starting line-up after stepping off the substitutes' bench in the last three matches, while on-loan Manchester United winger Robbie Brady has had a week to shake off the after-effects of a recent virus.

Andy Dawson is hoping for a recall to the side, but fellow defender Paul McShane (calf) and winger Cameron Stewart (knee ligaments) remain long-term absentees.

Centre-back Kaspars Gorkss is set to make his Reading debut.

The Latvia captain, 29, played a significant role in Rangers' promotion to the Premier League last season but has now signed a three-year deal at the Madejski Stadium.

Gorkss could line up alongside full-back Andy Griffin in the back four.

Griffin has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury but he has resumed training and might be fit for the clash with the Tigers.

Another new recruit Joseph Mills, brother of former Royals captain Matt, appeared from the bench in the Carling Cup tie with Charlton and may come into the starting line-up at left-back.

Fellow full-back Marcus Williams is a long-term absentee.
