Gerken: Injury worries

Bristol City goalkeeper Dean Gerken is still struggling to get over his injury problems. He has been troubled by groin and back niggles this season and is doubtful for the weekend's game.

Liam Fontaine and Jamie McAllister remain long-term casualties, both with ankle injuries, but otherwise Keith Millen has the majority of his squad available for selection.

Fontaine, subject of interest from Southampton during the summer, is set to be offered a new contract at the club.

Albert Adomah enjoyed his first taste of international action in midweek when he featured for Ghana against Brazil at Fulham's Craven Cottage, and the winger returned to Ashton Gate fully fit.

The league leaders, meanwhile, have received a triple injury boost.

Craig Mackail-Smith pulled out of the Scotland squad last weekend with a back injury but the striker has resumed full training and will be fit.

Winger Will Buckley is over the hamstring injury he suffered against Portsmouth last month and full-back Romain Vincelot returns from the shoulder problem which kept him out against Peterborough a fortnight ago.

Forward Will Hoskins has been out since the opening day with a hip problem and boss Gus Poyet rates him at 50-50.

Poyet will also assess the fitness of Vicente after the former Spain and Valencia winger joined the club last week.

Defenders Tommy Elphick (Achilles) and Adam El-Abd (foot) are still missing.
