Zakuani: Has a broken toe

Gabby Zakuani will continue to play through the pain barrier for Peterborough.

The defender suffered a broken toe in a Carling Cup tie against Stevenage last month but has started Posh's last five matches with the aid of pain-killing injections.

Boss Darren Ferguson has Scott Wootton and Josh Thompson available as cover but has been anxious to keep Zakuani in the side and continues to assess the 25-year-old's fitness on a match-by-match basis.

A few other unnamed players are nursing knocks but Ferguson expects them to be fit.

Lee Tomlin's ankle injury is not as bad as first thought and the forward is only expected to be missing for around a month.

Pascal Chimbonda is set to make his Doncaster bow.

The French defender, who was Dean Saunders' first signing since becoming Rovers manager, has been granted clearance to appear against Posh.

Saunders has enjoyed a good start since taking over, collecting four points from his first two games in charge, but Rovers remain bottom of the Championship table.

The former Wrexham boss has named an unchanged starting XI for both of those outings and Chimbonda's inclusion, possibly at the expense of long-serving right-back James O'Connor, could be the only change.

Chris Brown, James Chambers, Martin Woods and Adam Lockwood are long-term absentees and will be unavailable for Saunders once more.
