Blake: Has shrugged off a calf problem

Blake: Has shrugged off a calf problem

Cardiff are almost back to full strength for the clash with Ipswich.

A recent spate of injuries took out eight members of the first-team squad, but manager Malky Mackay is confident the majority of those affected will return to fitness in time for the visit of the Tractor Boys.

The long list includes midfielder Craig Conway, who has recovered from an ankle knock, strikers Rudy Gestede (hamstring) and Robert Earnshaw (thigh), and defender Andrew Taylor.

Summer signing Ben Turner is in line for a full debut after coming off the bench against Hull a fortnight ago, although Darcy Blake may start at centre-back after shrugging off a minor calf problem sustained on international duty with Wales in midweek.

The Bluebirds will leave it late to assess forward Kenny Miller's groin. Miller did not feature for Scotland during the international break, despite meeting up with his team-mates for their Euro 2012 qualifiers in Liechtenstein and Spain.

Danny Collins is expected to be fit for Town but Jay Emmanuel-Thomas is a doubt.

Centre-back Collins pulled out of international duty with Wales due to a troublesome groin injury but has used the break to aid his recovery and should be okay.

Midfielder Emmanuel-Thomas, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Cardiff from Arsenal, is struggling with an ankle problem he aggravated in Town's 3-1 victory over Brighton - their last outing prior to the international break.

On-loan right-back Reece Wabara should be in contention for his full debut having sustained minor hamstring trouble while playing for Ipswich's reserves last week.

Striker Daryl Murphy (hamstring) and winger Lee Martin (eye) are also available having missed out of late.

Manager Paul Jewell kept faith with the same XI for four matches leading up to the break as Town took 10 points from a possible 12 and he is likely to do so again, meaning a start for Michael Chopra as he returns to the Cardiff City Stadium following his summer switch.
