Jay Simpson may have played his way into the Millwall starting line-up for the game against the Seagulls.
The striker came on as a half-time substitute at Middlesbrough on Saturday and helped his side come back from a goal down to secure a 1-1 draw.
Boss Kenny Jackett admitted Simpson changed the game and he may now start alongside Darius Henderson, with QPR loanee Patrick Agyemang dropping to the bench.
Midfielder Therry Racon has recovered from the ankle injury he suffered in August but will not be risked just yet.
John Marquis, who was suspended at the weekend, is now recovering from a hernia operation and fellow forward Shaun Batt is still building up his fitness following a long-term knee injury.
Brighton will check on Craig Mackail-Smith ahead of the trip to Millwall.
The striker was struggling with a sore back while on international duty with Scotland but still played in Saturday's goalless draw against Hull.
The clash at The Den would therefore be his fourth outing in 11 days so boss Gus Poyet could give him a rest and hand a start to Will Hoskins.
Winger Will Buckley is close to recovering from the hamstring injury he sustained against Liverpool in the Carling Cup last month but the trip to south London will probably come too soon.
Defenders Adam El-Abd (foot) and Tommy Elphick (Achilles) remain sidelined with the long-term injuries they suffered at the end of last season.
