Carlisle will be without suspended defender Matty Robson.
The converted winger, who has made the left-back slot his own at Brunton Park, was sent off for two yellow-card offences in Saturday's 4-0 defeat at Charlton.
Manager Greg Abbott could be tempted to recall central defender Lubo Michalik to the starting line-up, while midfielder Jeremy Helan, on loan from Manchester City, is hoping to feature after he was an unused substitute at the weekend.
Abbott, who has no new injury problems, told the club's official website: "There are a few things for us to think about ahead of naming the team, but we've had a good look at that already.
"The key is that we know the group wants to put Saturday behind them, so who ever we choose we think they'll go out there and give it their best."
Sheffield Wednesday will look to return to the top of the table without suspended defender Reda Johnson.
The Owls could leapfrog current leaders Charlton with victory if other results go their way, but Johnson sits out a one-game ban after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season against Colchester at the weekend.
Julian Bennett is expected to step in for Johnson, who scored the Owls' second goal in Saturday's 2-0 home win.
Manager Gary Megson has no other new injury or suspension problems, while striker Ryan Lowe is pushing for his first start for the Owls after making only his third appearance off the substitutes' bench on Saturday following his summer arrival from Bury.
Winger Jermaine Johnson is hoping to make his first start since his dismissal at Stevenage last month.
