Ambrose: Will be assessed ahead of the clash

Crystal Palace will check on Darren Ambrose ahead of the clash.

Midfielder Ambrose suffered a knock on his leg as he slid in to score Palace's first goal in Tuesday night's 2-0 Carling Cup win over Southampton and limped off shortly after.

Manager Dougie Freedman made seven changes to his line-up against Saints so the likes of goalkeeper Julian Speroni, defender Anthony Gardner, midfielder Mile Jedinak, wingers Wilfried Zaha and Sean Scannell and striker Glenn Murray are expected to return.

Jermaine Easter hopes to keep his place up front after a lively display capped by a goal from the penalty spot in midweek.

Left-back Lee Hills (knee) and midfielder Alex Marrow (ankle) are still on the sidelines.

Reading manager Brian McDermott has a full complement of players to choose from.

Midfielder Jay Tabb, who suffered a horrible head injury in the win at Burnley on October 15 and has missed the Royals' last two games with concussion, is available for selection if required.

And McDermott has no new injury concerns for the meeting with the Eagles, as Reading look to extend their seven-match unbeaten streak.

Winger Jimmy Kebe has shown no adverse reaction since making his return from a month on the sidelines 10 days ago, while captain Jobi McAnuff got through his comeback game against Southampton last weekend unscathed.
