Wigan defender Antolin Alcaraz misses out through suspension.

The Paraguay international is beginning a three-match ban for spitting at Wolves' Richard Stearman during the Latics' loss at Molineux at fortnight ago.

Manager Roberto Martinez otherwise has a full squad to choose from with captain Gary Caldwell returning from his suspension.

Chris Samba is touch and go for Blackburn's visit to Wigan.

The Congo defender has been back in training this week after a hamstring injury, but both Scott Dann and Michel Salgado are ready to return to the Rovers defence after spells on the sidelines.

Simon Vukcevic is missing however after suffering a badly-broken nose on international duty with Montenegro.
