Motherwell defender Tim Clancy completes his two-match suspension in the clash.

Midfielder Stephen Hughes is pushing for a place on the bench after playing another reserve game.

Striker Bob McHugh has recovered from his ankle injury but is short of match fitness, while Steven Saunders and Lee Hollis remain out.

Dundee United will have defender Sean Dillon available.

The Irishman has played two behind-closed-doors friendlies since coming back from a calf injury so is pushing for a place in Peter Houston's squad.

Midfielder Stuart Armstrong is a doubt with an ankle problem and if he misses out he will join long-term absentees Danny Swanson (knee) - also a midfielder - and utility man Scott Severin (broken leg) in the stand.
