Frecklington: Back from groin injury

Lee Frecklington will be fit to take his place in the Posh team.

Frecklington missed the defeat to Reading on Tuesday night due to a slight groin injury but the midfielder is ready to return at the weekend.

Fellow midfielder Tommy Rowe has been nursing a slight thigh problem since the 3-2 reverse at the Madejski Stadium but he is expected to be fit.

Defenders Mark Little, fit again after a groin injury, and Josh Thompson and midfielders Ryan Tunnicliffe and Daniel Kearns are options should manager Darren Ferguson wish to make any changes to his starting line-up.

With a second game in the space of five days, the odd change could be likely as Ferguson made no substitutions at Reading.

Barnsley will be without suspended midfielder David Perkins against Posh.

Perkins, a virtual ever-present in the side since arriving on a free transfer from Colchester in the summer, was sent off for two yellow card offences in last week's win at Leeds and sits out a one-game ban.

Danny Drinkwater, on loan from Manchester United, is expected to step up from the substitutes' bench in Perkins' absence.

Striker Andy Gray will return to the squad after missing the last two games due to an Achilles tendon injury.

Gray is likely to return to the bench as manager Keith Hill already has a welcome selection dilemma up front with Nile Ranger, who made his debut last week as a second-half substitute following his arrival from Newcastle, vying with Craig Davies, Ricardo Vaz Te and Danny Haynes for a place in the starting line-up.

Hill, whose side are chasing a third straight league win, has no new injury problems.
