Tranmere will once again be without full-back Zoumana Bakayogo.
Bakayogo has recently spent time on the sidelines with a knee injury, but his latest setback comes courtesy of an infection that has affected his leg.
"Zoom hasn't been in all of this week," manager Les Parry told Tranmere Player. "He's got an infection and one of his legs is really swollen. He can't put any weight on it."
Ryan Brunt should be in the squad after joining on loan from Stoke while goalkeeper Paul Rachubka is set to play the final game of his spell from Leeds, making the return to training of Owain Fon Williams (broken hand) all the more timely.
David Raven will be absent from the Rovers defence for a further six weeks. Having struggled with a hernia problem since November, the 26-year-old is due to undergo an operation next week.
Adam McGurk (hamstring) and Joss Labadie (foot) will be assessed ahead of the game, while forward duo Andy Robinson (knee) and Enoch Showunmi (leg) remain sidelined.
Huddersfield's new loan signing Sean Morrison is hoping to play some part after arriving for a second spell from Reading.
The 21-year-old, who spent a month on loan last season, returned to the Galpharm Stadium this week and will provide competition in central defence, where skipper Peter Clarke has partnered Jamie McCombe in recent weeks.
But Town will be without winger Gary Roberts, who had a hernia operation this week and will be sidelined for a month, so Danny Cadamarteri is expected to step up, although Donal McDermott provides manager Lee Clark with an alternative option.
Striker Lee Novak is expected back in contention after turning his ankle in training last Friday and missing the home win over Brentford and defender Calum Woods (ankle) and midfielder Damien Johnson (knee) could also be added to Clark's squad following injury.
Midfielder Scott Arfield (ankle) and goalkeeper Alex Smithies (knee) remain sidelined while striker Jon Parkin has returned to parent club Cardiff.
