Hunt (r): Back in contention for Town

Preston's Iain Hume will be hoping to overcome a foot injury.

The striker sustained the knock after scoring the opening goal in the 1-1 draw against manager Graham Westley's former club Stevenage on Easter Monday.

Defender Nicky Hunt is set to undergo a fitness test after being left out of the squad to face Boro with an unspecified knock. Midfielder Barry Nicholson (hamstring) and striker Neil Mellor (knee) will definitely miss out.

The Lilywhites have not won in six matches and Westley could look to make some changes, with Jamie Proctor and Graham Cummins providing alternative attacking options for a side who have failed to score more than once in 16 of their last 17 games.

Huddersfield defender Jack Hunt returns to contention for the game following suspension.

Hunt missed both of Town's Easter weekend defeats through suspension after reaching 10 bookings.

Calum Woods stepped in for Hunt and manager Simon Grayson must decide who will start at left-back.

Grayson is expected to be without Lee Novak again. The striker missed Monday's defeat at Bournemouth due to an ankle injury and remains doubtful.

Danny Cadamarteri started in Novak's absence, but Alan Lee is pushing for a recall alongside 37-goal Jordan Rhodes, while winger Gary Roberts and Antony Kay will also be hoping to return to the starting line-up.

Grayson could be tempted to make changes after back-to-back defeats left his promotion chasers nine points behind second-placed Sheffield United with four games to go.

Defender Gary Naysmith (knee), plus midfielders Oscar Gobern and Damien Johnson (both hamstring) are still out.
