Gobern: Could return for Terriers

Huddersfield midfielders Oscar Gobern and Damien Johnson could both return to the squad.

Gobern has missed 10 matches and Johnson the last eight due to respective hamstring injuries, but were included in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Middlesbrough this week and should be in contention.

Another midfielder, Tommy Miller, made his first appearance in over two months in last weekend's defeat at Preston following a double hernia operation and is in contention for a place in manager Simon Grayson's starting line-up.

Striker Lee Novak is also pushing for a return to the starting line-up. He returned to the bench at Preston following an ankle injury.

Fellow forward Alan Lee remains doubtful with the knee injury that kept him out last week and goalkeeper Alex Smithies could miss out as he is scheduled to have stitches removed from a head wound, so Nick Colgan is on stand-by.

Scunthorpe midfielder Robbie Gibbons is in line for his full debut.

The 20-year-old, who made his first appearance off the substitutes' bench in last week's home defeat to MK Dons, is poised to start as midfield trio Josh Walker, Damien Mozika and Michael O'Connor are all unavailable.

The Iron are set to sign Watford midfielder Walker permanently on July 1 but his emergency loan spell expired last weekend, Frenchman Mozika is still struggling with an ankle problem and O'Connor's season is over due to a groin injury.

Manager Alan Knill will also be without the suspended Jordan Robertson, but fellow striker Jon Parkin (hamstring) is hoping to prove his fitness in time.

Winger Conor McAleny, on loan from Everton, remains sidelined with a knee injury, but Bobby Grant is in contention following the end of his loan spell at Accrington.

Scunthorpe, seven points above the drop zone in 16th place, require one more win to guarantee their safety.
