Fletcher: Back in Cherries' squad

Steve Fletcher is set to return to the Bournemouth squad.

The veteran striker and Cherries' record appearance holder is back a week early from his loan spell with Plymouth Argyle after they secured their League Two survival.

Goalkeeper Shwan Jalal keeps his place after returning from a long-term back injury at Scunthorpe last week and winger Donal McDermott also gets another chance after scoring the Cherries' goal in the 1-1 draw.

Midfielder Wes Fogden needs surgery on a shoulder injury and could be out for six months while striker Matt Tubbs remains sidelined following an operation on his hamstring.

Defender Stephen Purches will not be fit until next year following his double leg break and forward Charlie Sheringham has a foot injury.

Preston boss Graham Westley has no new injury worries for the final-day encounter.

Goalkeeper Thorsten Stuckmann was absent for last weekend's 2-2 draw with Charlton after suffering a knock in training and North End's Player of the Season remains a doubt.

If the 31-year-old German stopper misses out, Andreas Arestidou is poised to continue between the posts.

Graham Alexander will not be included in the squad after the veteran midfielder fittingly marked his final professional appearance with an injury-time equaliser against the Addicks.

Strike duo Neil Mellor (knee) and Iain Hume (hamstring) remain on the sidelines alongside midfielders Barry Nicholson (hamstring) and Adam Barton (broken ankle).

The Lilywhites are hoping to conclude a difficult campaign at Dean Court by stretching their current unbeaten run to six matches.
