FT: Tottenham 2 Fulham 0

Well I can't quite believe what has happened at Eastlands today. But a decent game here too. Spurs will be gunning for Bayern Munich next week. Hope you enjoyed my coverage today, until next season!

It's full-time at West Brom, who have lost to Arsenal. Tottenham finish the Premier League in fourth.

Well this was a routine win for Tottenham, it seems the drama was elsewhere today. Waiting for final score from West Brom...

It's all over at White Hart Lane, Spurs have won 2-0 here!

Modric has a shot blocked well by Hangeland, the clock running down now...

Three minutes added time to be played.

Tottenham have a corner but there is absolutely no intention in putting it in the area. They take it short and retain possession.

Great save from Friedel at his near post! Fulham are peppering the Spurs area with crosses now. Dembele has a pop from 25 yards...tipped over!

Duff pulls the ball across goal and it just dribbles across the face and out for a corner, much to the displeasure of the Spurs fans.

Kasami has a shot...charged down! Finally Fulham at least giving it a go in the closing stages, but surely it is too little too late.

Modric is felled in his own half and Tottenham once again have the chance to slow things down.

Tottenham's fans are in good voice but this game is fading away now, Spurs cantering home. Can West Brom find an equaliser and send the Lane into celebration?

Spurs take it short to Lennon who fires it into the area...palmed away by Schwarzer and Tottenham retain possession.

Good work from Adebayor to win a corner for Tottenham, and they are in no rush to take it. Everyone waiting for news from West Brom...

So Smith goes to right-back and Gallas drops into central defence. Great applause for the departing Kaboul, who has been a rock for Spurs this season.

Tottenham sub: Smith on, Kaboul off

Another injury problem for Spurs and Kaboul is down receiving treatment...France fans should be worrying about this.

Diarra does well to win the ball but his backheel can't quite find Duff on the touchline. Fulham trying to fight their way back into it.

This game seems over if I'm honest. Fulham have been poor in this second half and Spurs are dictating the tempo now. It all depends on what Arsenal are doing...

Nice move from Spurs and Jermain Defoe has a pop from 25 yards out...but he sends his curling effort over the bar.

Strange atmosphere at the Lane as news comes through that QPR are winning at Manchester City. Sense of bewilderment here!

Good work from Modric, charging down a lost cause, but Adebayor can't quite make anything of it.

Fulham sub: Murphy off, Kasami on

Well I would be very surprised if Fulham can recover from this. Say what you like about Defoe, but he always pops up in the right place at the right time.

Well that looks to have sealed it for Spurs! Defoe pokes home from just outside the six-yard box after Lennon's cross/shot was deflected into his path. 2-0!

Fulham looking to build something now, that shot from Dembele seems to have given them a kick up the backside. Duff is offside, however.

Tottenham sub: Defoe on, Van der Vaart off

Dembele hits the post for Fulham! He was allowed space to shoot and shoot he duly did...so close to the equaliser from 25 yards out!

It's all being played in midfield now here with space hard to find now. Fulham still carrying little threat.

News filtering through that Arsenal have gone 3-2 up at West Brom and suddenly a hush descends on the Lane.

Fulham's Diarra is down injured in midfield and he looks in a lot of pain. The game is temporarily paused.

Adebayor charges through one-on-one but it's a late flag for a shove on the defender. Spurs looking bright at the moment.

Great chance for Sandro but his header is saved by Schwarzer! Fine run from Lennon down the right and his cross was met by the Brazilian but he couldn't beat the goalkeeper.

So Nelsen has slotted in to centre-half with Gallas going to right-back. Elsewhere QPR have scored against Manchester City.

Tottenham sub: Walker off, Nelsen on

Kyle Walker is limping horribly out there and is set to be replaced - that doesn't look good for England. But why did he come out for the second half?

Modric swings a ball to the far post but Hughes heads behind for a corner, which Schwarzer claims.

Early free-kick to Spurs down the right with Aaron Lennon brought down. Danger here but so far the quality of delivery has been lacking today.

We are back underway here, with Kyle Walker hobbling onto the pitch for the second half!

In terms of matters at the top and bottom, as if you don't already know, Manchester City are beating QPR 1-0, Manchester United are 1-0 up at Sunderland and Bolton are winning 2-1 at Stoke. Newcastle, meanwhile, are 2-0 down at Everton.

Get in touch and share your views on Twitter @James_Riach. Can Tottenham clinch third place?

Well what drama here at White Hart Lane. A great start for Tottenham and things were going swimmingly with news that Arsenal were trailing at West Brom. The Gunners have since equalised but Spurs currently occupy third place in the table!

The half-time whistle goes, it's 1-0 Tottenham at the break.

Last chance of the half surely, and it falls to Gareth Bale on the edge of the area...but the Welshman blazes it over!

One minute of added time to be played.

Kyle Walker takes a nasty knock and goes down before trying to get back up, much to the ire of Harry Redknapp who is aghast on the touchline! 'Stay down,' says the manager.

Sandro does well to be strong and hold off the challenge of Dembele on the touchline, winning a free-kick in the process. Spurs looking to slow the pace before half-time.

Kyle Walker has space in front of him but instead of driving forward he opts to shoot and is never in any danger of beating Schwarzer.

More pressure from Fulham as they knock it around well in and around the opposition area...it falls to Diarra who has a pop, but he blazes it well over.

Another great save from Friedel to keep out a stinging Dembele effort! He got down really well there and Spurs have their goalkeeper to thank for keeping it 1-0!

Great save Friedel to deny Riise! Fantastic break from the Norwegian and the space opened up for him to pull the trigger from the edge of the area...palmed away by Friedel though!

Bit of a lull in the game now and with 10 minutes till half-time, which side will finish the stronger?

Van der Vaart fires just wide! Swift break from Spurs with Lennon speeding down the right, finding Adebayor in the middle who laid it off for the Dutchman, who couldn't hit the target.

Diarra battles for Fulham in midfield and wins possession well. Fulham feed it wide right and the cross comes in looking for Pogrebnyak...but there is Friedel to claim expertly.

Just as I say that he beats Walker to the by-line before sending in a low cross to the near post, but William Gallas was in the right place to intercept.

Frei is looking pretty lively for Fulham it has to be said. He has bags of pace cutting in from the left.

There have been two important goals elsewhere. Everton are 2-0 up over Newcastle, but Arsenal have equalised to go 2-2 at West Brom.

The corner is drifted in and Bale leaps like a salmon...but the ball just evades him and Fulham have a free-kick.

It's a woeful effort from Van der Vaart, straight into the wall, but Adebayor picking up the pieces wins a corner for his side.

It's a yellow cad to Brede Hangeland for a blatant check on Adebayor, who was running through on goal. Dangerous free-kick for Tottenham.

Tottenham are being put on the back foot a bit now and there's a bit of suspect defending. Harry Redknapp stands up to try and spread some calm.

Frei looking to take on Walker but he is forced back into central midfield. Spurs keeping their shape well when not in possession.

Bale goes galloping down the left flank like a charging gazelle and is brought down, but no foul says referee Phil Dowd.

Finally Fulham get their foot on the ball and begin knocking it around. Hangeland looks to bring it out of defence.

Cross from the left comes in from Bale but Schwarzer claims with ease. Newcastle have gone 1-0 down at Everton.

Kyle Walker attempts a shot on goal but he drags it past the near post. Poor effort from the England right-back.

Tottenham have a free-kick down their left and will surely swing this one into the area...

Fulham have barely mustered an attack so far and the rocking atmosphere seems to be getting the better of them.

Lennon skips down the right flank and chips a ball into the area, but it's just over the head of Van der Vaart.

Chance for Adebayor but he can't make contact in the area and it's a Fulham goal-kick. Another roar though with news that West Brom have gone 2-1 up against Arsenal!

Lennon and Livermore combine down the right and Livermore has a right-foot attempt from inside the area, but he slices it narrowly wide.

Well it has already been a dramatic afternoon in the Premier League, and I'm sure there are more twists and turns along the way.

Van der Vaart this time floats one in but it's headed clear. Massive cheer goes round the Lane as the news filters in that West Brom have equalised against Arsenal!

Wonderful dancing feet from Modric to beat two men before seeing his deflected shot almost bounce into the path of Bale. Successive corners for the home side.

Tottenham fans singing 'we love you West Brom, we do'. Arsenal have taken the lead at the Hawthorns though. That's bad news for Spurs.

Modric swings a corner in but it is headed clear at the near post. Fulham just need to regroup at the moment and keep their shape.

Spurs knocking the ball around comfortably in midfield and defence, looking composed in possession. Modric wins a corner.

Crucial challenge from Riise with Aaron Lennon surging forward with real pace. With his quick feet Riise had to get the timing right on the edge of the area.

Adebayor of course scored past Schwarzer, not Friedel. Ahem...apologies for that.

Dembele is down on the halfwayline with a knock but looks okay to continue. White Hart Lane is rocking.

Well Martin Jol just slumps back into his chair down here in the dugout, while the pre-match nerves among the home fans have certainly been lifted. Fulham were caught napping there.

What a great start for Tottenham! Adebayor cut inside from the left and played a delightful one-two with Van der Vaart before slotting the ball past Schwarzer!

Gareth Bale is playing left-back for Spurs today with Jake Livermore in central midfield alongside Sandro.

The game gets underway.

Warm round of applause for Martin Jol.

Dean Wilson: "With Dempsey out I think we have a fantastic shot, just hoping West Brom can do us some favours. Would like to see Dos Santos come on for more than just 10 mins, but who knows what goes on in Harry's head. Just going to sit back with some Chinese and a cidre and enjoy the match."

Neil Fox: "Afternoon James. Hoping for a real open game with Spurs running riot today. Spurs to win 3 - 1. with Arsenal and Newcastle drawing their games 1-1 and 2-2 respectively. It's all down to the wire so please keep the updates flowing as in Afghan atm. COYS!!!!!!"

Not long until kick-off on a balmy afternoon at the Lane and the atmosphere is bubbling nicely. Will there be any nerves in the Spurs ranks at kick-off?

Sam Yeats on Twitter: "Hi James, hoping for a 3-1 Spurs win and a draw at the Hawthorns for a wonderful and deserved 3rd place finish for Spurs #COYS"

Let's not underestimate how important qualifying for the Champions League is for Tottenham, in terms of keeping their star players (Gareth Bale recently being linked with Barcelona) and attracting big names to North London. They will not want to rely on Bayern Munich beating Chelsea next Saturday, although rather that than finishing fifth, of course.

For Fulham it has been an excellent season in Martin Jol's first year in charge. He returns to the Lane today for the first time since he was sacked by Spurs (at half-time during a match five years ago). Clint Dempsey is injured though and doesn't play - he's been one of the Premier League's top players this term, no doubt about it.

It certainly has been a strange campaign for Spurs, mooted as title contenders earlier in the year, they endured a miserable slump before picking things up again. Harry Redknapp was a shoo-in for the England job, or so everyone thought, but than honour has now gone to Roy Hodgson. Not to mention Redknapp's heart surgery and court case. Think he'll be looking forward to a break this summer.

Matthew Leventine: "I am a Spurs fan and just hope Tottenham win today to keep our star players. It has been a very jumpy season with us being 3rd then slipping to 5th. Spurs to win today 2-1."

So there you have the two line-ups, and the man with the whistle this afternoon is Phil Dowd.

Fulham: Schwarzer, Kelly, Hangeland, Hughes, Riise, Murphy, Duff, Diarra, Frei, Dembele, Pogrebnyak. Subs: Stockdale, Kasami, Senderos, Gecov, Briggs, Trotta

Tottenham: Friedel, Bale, Kaboul, Gallas, Walker, Livermore, Sandro, Lennon, Modric, Van der Vaart, Adebayor. Subs: Cudicini, Saha, Dos Santos, Nelson, Defoe, Kane, Smith

The teams are in...

I'll try and keep you updated with the scores from the Hawthorns and Goodison Park today. For any thoughts or rants get in touch by following me on Twitter @James_Riach or email me at james.riach@bskyb.com.

Spurs' fate is out of their hands to a certain extent though, with Arsenal assured of third if they win at West Brom. Newcastle, meanwhile, are just one point below fourth-placed Tottenham.

Afternoon everyone and welcome to the final day of the Premier League season, and what a season it has been. Today I'm at White Hart Lane as Tottenham look to secure a Champions League finish against Fulham.

Updates will appear here...
