Harrold: Scored for Rovers

Matin Paterson struck the woodwork for the Clarets after just 60 seconds on Tuesday night but it was Rovers who opened the scoring midway through the first half, summer signing Matt Harrold volleying home Matt Gill's corner.

Substitute Eliot Richards added a second for the hosts shortly after the hour mark, surging clear to beat Brian Jenson with a cool finish.

Ross Wallace later found the crossbar with a great effort but it was an otherwise disappointing start to Burnley's five-day tour of the south west.
