Brighton have a host of injury doubts ahead of Sunday's visit of Barnsley.

Midfielders Gonzalo Jara Reyes (knee) and Vicente (thigh) and forwards Will Buckley (hamstring) and Will Hoskins (thigh) all missed Tuesday night's defeat at Watford while midfielder Liam Bridcutt was forced off in the first half through illness.

Chile international Reyes could return against the Tykes but the rest are unlikely to be involved.

Midfielder Gary Dicker is still recovering from a broken leg, Adam El-Abd has a long-term foot injury and fellow centre-half Tommy Elphick is out for the season with an Achilles problem.

Assistant manager Mauricio Taricco, who announced he had quit playing last month, has been coaxed out of retirement again and should be on the bench.

Barnsley manager Keith Hill is not expected to make any changes to his side for the game against the Seagulls.

The Tykes bounced back from successive defeats to beat Hull in midweek and Hill has no new injury or suspension worries as they chase back-to-back league wins for the first time this season.

Strikers Danny Haynes (hamstring) and Reuben Noble-Lazarus (ankle) remain sidelined as do defender Bobby Hassell (groin) and midfielder and Goran Lovre (knee).

However, winger Matty Done made a cameo role on Tuesday night after a hamstring injury and provides Hill with an extra midfield option.

Striker Craig Davies followed up his first goal for the club last weekend against Bristol City with another in the win over Hull and is expected to start again alongside Andy Gray.

Midfielder Nathan Doyle and forward Ricardo Vaz Te are both pushing for recalls to the starting line-up.
