Antonio: Set for debut

Latest signing Michail Antonio is on stand-by for his Sheffield Wednesday debut in Sunday's Steel City derby.

The winger joined on loan from Reading until the end of the season earlier in the week and is a likely replacement for Jermaine Johnson, who will be sidelined for eight weeks after sustaining knee ligament damage in last week's 1-0 defeat to Chesterfield.

Defender Daniel Jones is still struggling with a calf injury and will play no part but otherwise manager Gary Megson has a full-strength squad to choose from.

Megson must decide whether to recall striker Gary Madine to the starting line-up or retain Chris O'Grady and Ryan Lowe up front, while Clinton Morrison offers an alternative option.

Midfielder John Bostock, on loan from Tottenham, is also pushing for a recall.

The Owls have slipped five points adrift of second-placed Sheffield United in the race for automatic promotion and have played two more games than their arch rivals.

Sheffield United look set to be without Kevin McDonald for the 126th Sheffield derby.

The midfielder, who has recently been enjoying his most impressive form of the season, suffered a hamstring injury in last Saturday's win over Preston and has yet to return to training.

Boss Danny Wilson is keen to give him as much time as possible, but Nick Montgomery - a veteran of 10 Steel City derbies - looks set to come into the centre of midfield.

Lee Williamson has fully recovered from a calf injury and will battle it out with Ryan Flynn for a place on the right of midfield.

Wilson has no other injury or suspension concerns as he takes his side three miles along the A61 hoping for a victory that would put them eight points ahead of the Owls with two games in hand.

Despite that gap, Wilson knows it will be a tight game and said: "We are going into the game very evenly matched. I don't think there is a fag paper between us. It's a very difficult one to call."
