Boro boss Tony Mowbray has no fresh injury worries for the clash.

The Boro squad emerged from Saturday's 0-0 home draw with Ipswich unscathed, and Mowbray will have a near-enough full squad from which to choose.

French midfielder Malaury Martin was not involved at the weekend after recovering from illness, but he could return to contention.

Seb Hines remains a doubt with a knee problem, while goalkeeper Jason Steele is closing in on a return after recovering from a broken bone in his wrist.

However, Jonathan Franks is expected to remain on the sidelines for some time yet after undergoing shoulder surgery earlier this month which could keep him out for up to 12 weeks in total.

Leicester's Michael Johnson could make his first league start in over three years.

The on-loan midfielder has not started a league game since August 2008 when he appeared for parent club Manchester City in a 3-0 Premier League win over Sunderland.

Johnson's career has been blighted by injury since that appearance at the Stadium of Light.

After impressing as a second-half substitute during the goalless draw at Cardiff on Sunday, manager Sven-Goran Eriksson believes the 23-year-old is ready for the starting XI.

David Nugent is back in training after a month out with a hamstring injury and the striker could also be included in the squad.

However, midfielder Paul Gallagher remains sidelined with ankle ligament damage.
