Weir: Hamstring trouble

Rangers were dealt a double defensive blow ahead with the news that David Weir and Kyle Bartley did not travel.

The Scottish champions jetted out from Glasgow Airport on Wednesday morning for Thursday's play-off first leg in Slovenia.

Skipper Weir failed to recover from a hamstring strain that has sidelined him for a couple of weeks, while Bartley suffered a groin strain in the 2-0 win at Inverness at the weekend.

Better news for Rangers is that Lee McCulloch, who can operate at centre-half if need be, did travel and looks set to recover from a knee injury.

Kyle Lafferty, who is recovering from a hernia operation, travelled with the rest of the team but is highly unlikely to feature.
