Norwich centre-back Zak Whitbread (knee) is a doubt against Stoke.

Defender Daniel Ayala could feature following his move from Liverpool after playing for the reserves in midweek.

Striker James Vaughan and centre-back Elliott Ward are sidelined after picking up minor knee injuries during pre-season.

Stoke boss Tony Pulis will make changes from the side that beat FC Thun in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Pulis rested Asmir Begovic, Jonathan Woodgate, Glenn Whelan and Jermaine Pennant in Switzerland and they could all return to the starting line-up.

The Potters boss must also decide whether to include Matthew Upson in the squad after the England defender made an impressive debut for the club against Thun while Rory Delap (hamstring) is a major doubt.

Norwich (from): Ruddy, R Martin, Barnett, De Laet, Tierney, Surman, Fox, Crofts, Hoolahan, Morison, Holt, Rudd, Ayala, Whitbread, Bennett, Pilkington, Johnson, Naughton, Jackson.

Stoke (from): Begovic, Huth, Wilson, Shawcross, Upson, Collins, Pugh, Wilkinson, Whelan, Whitehead, Diao, Walters, Jones, Sorensen, Shotton, Tonge, Arismendi, Woodgate, Pennant, Delap.
