Williamson: Faces six weeks out

Newcastle central defender Mike Williamson is facing up to six weeks on the sidelines after suffering an ankle injury in Thursday night's 2-1 Carling Cup victory at Scunthorpe, while keeper Steve Harper will miss out with a knee problem and striker Shola Ameobi could be limited by a hip injury.

Fulham pair Bobby Zamora and John Arne Riise are doubts for Sunday's clash.

The England international striker missed Thursday night's Europa League play-off against Dnipro with an ankle injury and is rated 50-50 for the match at St James' Park.

Riise was forced off with a groin problem on Thursday and has had a scan, while Simon Davies faces a further five months out with a knee injury.
