Agbonlahor: Hamstring doubt

Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor is a doubt for the game.

Agbonlahor opened the scoring in Saturday's 3-1 Premier League victory over Blackburn, but failed to re-appear after the break because of a hamstring problem.

Emile Heskey (abductor muscle) and Luke Young (knee) were also replaced during the second half, while keeper Shay Given was hampered by a groin injury which had threatened his participation at the weekend.

Hereford manager Jamie Pitman continues to battle a host of injury problems ahead of the match.

Captain Stefan Stam and debutant Benoit Dalibard are the latest to join the Bulls' treatment room having both sustained hamstring injuries during Saturday's 1-1 draw at AFC Wimbledon, ruling them out for between two to four weeks.

Goalkeeper Adam Bartlett (thigh), defender Joe Heath (ribs) and midfielder Rob Purdie (thigh) all missed out at the weekend due to injury.

Bartlett faces another couple of weeks on the sidelines while Heath and Purdie will be assessed as late as possible.

New signing Simon Clist, who enjoyed an impressive debut against the Dons, is cup-tied following his loan move from Oxford.

It promises to be a tough evening for a Hereford side who, having scored only their first league goal of the season at the weekend, lie second-bottom in the Football League and are coming up against a Villa outfit who are third in the Premier League after the opening stages of the season.

Aston Villa (from): Given, Guzan, Young, Dunne, Collins, Warnock, Petrov, Delph, N'Zogbia, Albrighton, Bent, Agbonlahor, Heskey, Beye, Makoun, Ireland, Bannan, Beye, Clark.
