QPR manager Neil Warnock is likely to rest a number of his first-team players for the game.

DJ Campbell, Adel Taarabt, Jay Bothroyd and Matthew Connolly were all struggling with a virus prior to Rangers' 1-0 win over Everton on Saturday and are likely to be rested for Tuesday's game against their League One opponents at Loftus Road.

Striker Bruno Perone could make his debut, but Clint Hill (suspension), Jamie Mackie (broken leg) and Rob Hulse (knee) are unavailable.

Dutch defender Pim Balkestein will make his first start for Rochdale in the clash.

Balkestein, 24, joined Dale on loan from Brentford until January last week and made his debut when stepping off the substitutes' bench for midfielder Joe Thompson in Saturday's defeat at local rivals Oldham.

Balkestein will be a straight replacement for centre-half Neal Trotman, who sits out a one-game ban following his dismissal at the weekend.

Manager Steve Eyre has no other new injury or suspension problems and is not expected to make any other changes.

But midfield pair Jason Kennedy and Marc Twaddle are pushing for first-team recalls after their respective substitute appearances at the weekend.

Rochdale went out at the second-round stage last season following a 3-2 defeat at Birmingham.

QPR (from): Kenny, Murphy, Orr, Derry, Hall, Gabbidon, Taarabt, Campbell, Bothroyd, Faurlin, Gorkss, Buzsaky, Connolly, Smith, Helguson, Moen, Agyemang, Shittu, Ephraim, Perone.

Appalling, Slow, Pathetic, Embarrassing

It's a bonus Saturday Mailbox, with plenty of reaction to the most alarming 0-0 draw in Manchester United's recent history. At what point do we worry about Louis van Gaal?

Why Do Man United Look So Impotent?

It's all very well talking about formations and United's defensive problems, but shouldn't their expensive attacking options be doing better? And we talk psychology...
