Wayne Rooney is expected to be fit for United's Champions League encounter with Benfica at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

Rooney missed training on Monday morning after getting a buffeting during Saturday's win at Swansea but Sir Alex Ferguson feels his star striker will recover.

Jonny Evans (hamstring) is also expected to be available but skipper Nemanja Vidic is missing as he serves the final game of a two-match ban.

United (from): De Gea, Lindegaard, Rafael, Fabio, Jones, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Fryers, Nani, Valencia, Gibson, Carrick, Fletcher, Morrison, Park, Giggs, Young, Rooney, Hernandez, Berbatov, Macheda, Diouf.
