Park: Set for debut

Korean striker Chu Young Park, Japanese forward Ryo Miyaichi and fellow 18-year-old Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all expected to make their full debuts for Arsenal.

Marouane Chamakh, Emmanuel Frimpong, Carl Jenkinson and Francis Coquelin are also likely to feature while Wenger rests some senior players.

Shrewsbury are expected to be without first-choice centre-backs Ian Sharps and Shane Cansdell-Sherriff.

Shrews skipper Sharps pulled up nursing a calf problem in the warm-up prior to Saturday's 3-2 victory at Port Vale, while central defensive partner Cansdell-Sherriff was forced off after just 20 minutes nursing a hamstring strain.

Sharps, whose injury is not as bad as first feared, stands a remote chance of being rushed back for the encounter although Saturday's home clash against Torquay is a more likely target, but Cansdell-Sherriff is facing around two weeks on the sidelines.

Striker Terry Gornell serves the final game of his three-match suspension, meaning James Collins is again likely to start alongside Marvin Morgan in attack.

Shrewsbury travel to the Emirates Stadium high in confidence having won six of their last eight games in all competitions, but the same cannot be said for a troubled Gunners side whose 4-3 defeat at Blackburn on Saturday made it the club's worst start to a season for 58 years.

Yet Arsene Wenger's side, runners-up to Birmingham at Wembley last term, have not failed to make it to at least the quarter-finals of the competition since 2002/03.

Arsenal (from): Fabianski, Almunia, Mannone, Coquelin, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Song, Benayoun, Miyaichi, Gervinho, Santos, Frimpong, Chamakh, Park, Djourou, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jenkinson.
