Scotland boss Gordon Strachan drafted in the Motherwell left-back to cover for the withdrawal of Rangers defender Lee Wallace, who had been expected to start the final Group A clash but has succumbed to a knee injury.

Hammell is likely to add to his last international cap, which came nine years ago, as Steven Whittaker is suspended.

Jordan Rhodes is also unavailable due to a groin injury but Robert Snodgrass has joined up with the squad following the birth of his daughter.
