Robertson: In contention

Robertson: In contention

Scunthorpe pair Jordan Robertson and Christian Ribeiro are expected to return to contention for the midweek match.

Striker Robertson missed Saturday's 1-1 draw with Stevenage due to a hip injury, while Ribeiro, on loan from Bristol City, was sidelined with a dead-leg.

Manager Alan Knill has no new injury or suspension worries, but is still working with a squad badly affected by injuries.

Defender Cliff Byrne (groin), goalkeeper Josh Lillis (knee), strikers Connor Jennings (foot) and Matt Godden (hip), plus midfield pair Jimmy Ryan (knee) and Michael Collins (Achilles) all remain sidelined.

Striker Bobby Grant stepped off the bench on Saturday after a three-week lay-off due to an ankle injury and is pushing for a return to the starting line-up, while Knill may be tempted to include midfielder Damien Mozika on the bench again following a similar, longer-term, problem.

Meanwhile, Sheffield Wednesday skipper Rob Jones is hoping to shake off injury in time to face his former club.

The 6ft 7in centre-half, who joined the Owls from Scunthorpe following a loan spell at the end of last season, was forced out of Saturday's home draw with Hartlepool midway through the second half to be replaced by Miguel Llera.

Llera will continue alongside Danny Batth should Jones not recover in time.

Manager Gary Megson confirmed he had several other injury concerns, but refused to specify, while otherwise he has no suspension worries and a fully-fit squad to choose from.

Striker Ryan Lowe and winger Jermaine Johnson, following his fine solo goal against Hartlepool at the weekend, are pushing for recalls as the Owls bid to move level on points with Huddersfield and Sheffield United in the race for the second automatic promotion spot.
