FT: Stoke 1 Everton 1

Full-time: Time for one last effort from Huth as he blasts a shot from a free-kick that deflects into the arms of Howard. That's it though, Stoke doing enough to get back into it and they were just about value for the point thanks to the impact of goalscorer Cameron Jerome and fellow substitute striker Ricardo Fuller.

90+4
Pienaar booked for a foul on Huth.

90+4
Final chance for Stoke as the ball bounces in the Everton box but Jones fires over. Slight deflection not spotted by the referee.

90+3
That's a corner to Stoke though after Fuller causes trouble in the area.

90+2
Neither side looks to have a winner in them. Two tired teams at the moment.

90
There will be four minutes of added time.

89
McFadden is on for Osman.

88
Pienaar spreads the play to Distin and his cross finds Jelavic, whose snap shot is mishit and drifts wide.

86
Long ball from Begovic finds Jones with the flick-on and Fuller has a bit of space in the left channel. But the striker slips as he swings at it with his left boot and the moment has gone.

85
Whelan tries to loft a free-kick into the box but overhits it and the ball runs out for a goal kick.

83
Pienaar and Osman controlling the game as Stoke sit deeper and deeper. Jelavic does well down the left and stands the cross up only for Cahill and Fellaini to get in each other's way just six yards out.

82
Everton continuing to push for a winner with Hibbert getting forward on the right.

81
Pienaar pulls the ball back for Osman on the edge of the box but his shot is deflected and is easily claimed by Begovic.

79
Stracqualursi away down the right immediately but he is short of options in the box and cannot find a yellow Everton shirt.

79
Stracqualursi on for Gueye.

78
Huth and Jelavic having words and the referee has intervened.

77
Gueye appears to be injured.

75
Tricks from Fuller with his first touch. That's got the crowd involved - with his second touch he skins two Everton defenders and wins a corner off the third. These changes proving very effective and extremely popular.

74
Everton on the attack again through Hibbert and the visitors have a corner. Jagielka can only head the ball over though.

72
Jerome continuing to impress. He's had a run at Distin down the right now and seems to be causing all sorts of problems.

Powerful play from Jerome. He was running at two Everton defenders from the halfway line. Got a couple of lucky bounces off both himself and Jagielka but he made the most of it, taking the ball onto his left-foot and forcing the ball past Howard. Timely substitution from Tony Pulis.

69
Goal! Cameron Jerome with an instant impact!

69
Osman breaks down the right but his cut back is a poor one and the chance is gone.

67
Whelan is on for Delap.

67
Jerome replaces Crouch.

67
Fuller is on to replace Walters.

66
Osman and Jelavic try a one-two on the edge of the box but Stoke just manage to cut the return pass out.

64
Etherington swings the ball in from the right and Cahill is forced to concede a throw-in. Huth is Delap's target but Cahill leaps to clear again.

63
Everton dominating in the middle of the park but Stoke still a threat in the Everton area. The game is opening up a bit with both sides taking it in turns to attack.

62
Shawcross leaves a foot in on Pienaar and is booked.

60
More appeals from Jones. Heitinga and Distin combine to floor the striker but the referee more interested in the fact that Howard had claimed the long pass comfortably regardless.

59
Appeals for a penalty from Stoke as Jones goes down under an aerial challenge from Osman. Referee not interested.

58
Long throw... for Everton. Distin lofts the ball in and it nearly comes out for Cahill but he swings wildly, miskicks, and Stoke clear.

57
Chance! Osman feeds Pienaar down the right and, when he cuts the ball back, Fellaini looks set to stroke the ball home - but it's taken off his toe by the onrushing Osman looking for the return pass and he fires over.

55
Nice ball by Jones into the right channel for Walters to chase. He beats Hibbert but his cross does not beat the first man and it's out for a corner, which Everton clear.

54
Wilson is booked for a foul on Pienaar in the build-up.

53
Osman twisting and turning in the Stoke boss and when he tries to cross the ball hits Huth. Appeals for a penalty but the referee waves away Everton's claims.

53
Another long free-kick from the home side and Walters wins the header now but again there is very little movement for Stoke in order to win these knockdowns.

51
Fellaini commits the foul and Shawcross pumps the free-kick long. This time Jones does win the header but it's misdirected.

50
Delap fires this one in low on the bounce but Everton clear and break.

49
Knocked long to Jones but Heitinga heads out for a throw. You know what's coming next...

48
Everton back on the ball and frustrating the home fans by passing the ball across the back line.

47
Begovic hits it long but Crouch is beaten to the ball by Jagielka.

46
Everton kick-off.

Thanks for your feedback. The players are out and we're about to get back underway.

Luke: "Going to go for 2-0 Everton. Jelavic grabbing the second quite late on."

Matt: "No way back for Stoke."

John: "I doubt there is any way back for Stoke, especially in the form that Everton are in at the moment, I see Everton closing this out."

Robin: "Is Jelavic looking like getting a chance or two for a goal in the second half?" ... He went close but didn't know much about it as the ball bounced off him. Struggling to get into it really.

Dianne: "No way back. Stoke too negative. Very worried for next season. Perhaps time for change at the top."

Nick: "Come on Stoke, let's finish the season on a high note, Crouchie can make amends 2nd half, the mighty Potters to sneak it 2-1."

Sam: "I predict that Everton will win 2-1. If Everton finish above Liverpool, losing the FA Cup semi-final won't be such a disaster."

Any way back for Stoke? Let me know what you think - you can email me at adam.bate@bskyb.com or tweet me @GhostGoal

Half-time: The referee blows up and Everton lead at the break. A scrappy game and a scrappy goal but the visitors played the better stuff and will fancy their chances now.

Upson was penalised for a foul on Jelavic. They've been tussling all night. Pienaar took the free-kick short to Hibbert on the right and his cross was a good one. He missed Cahill but the ball was headed against Crouch with the big striker on the fall from his original jump and he diverted it past Begovic. Very fortunate but Everton probably deserve that on the balance of play.

44
Goal! Peter Crouch with an own goal!

43
Another Delap throw and it's Jones who latches on to this one but his header is wide.

42
From the next corner, the ball comes back out to Gueye who blasts a fierce drive just wide.

41
But Pienaar's cross is poor. Distin is lining up a long-throw now but elects to take it short instead with Stoke unprepared. Pienaar collects and, cutting in from the left, fires a right-footed shot in that is deflected over.

39
Not much happening at the Britannia. It's a game of few chances and it's also being played at a tame pace due to the frequent stoppages. Jelavic, who has often found himself in wide positions, wins a corner here. Chance for Everton to put the ball in...

37
Walters crosses for Crouch at the far post but Jagielka is there and intercepts. When the ball comes back in, Hibbert neatly heads back to Howard while under pressure.

35
Chance! Gueye beats Walters all ends up on the left-wing and crosses. The ball is missed by Osman and appears to hit Jelavic on the bounce without him knowing much about it - but it's not far away, flying 18 inches over the Stoke crossbar.

34
But when the Toffees engineer space down the right, Hibbert's cross is a poor one.

33
Neither side putting many passes together - Jones wastes the opportunity to break as he plays the ball behind Whitehead. But this is better from Everton, keeping the ball in the Stoke half.

31
Huth wins the header again and it's a looping one that Howard has to turn over for a corner. Etherington takes over from Delap.

30
Two more long-throws from Delap...

29
That's a better left-footed shot from Osman after Cahill fed the ball to him in a central position 20 yards out but it's caught by Begovic.

28
Dismal exchange of long balls from the two goalkeepers.

27
Hibbert crosses for Fellaini and the ball is bobbling in the Stoke box. They clear as far as Osman but the diminutive midfielder's left-footed effort is tame and straight at Begovic.

25
Good possession from Everton, starving Stoke of the ball despite good pressure from the home side.

24
And Everton get lucky as the ball is again bouncing around their six-yard box. They're just not dealing with it and when Jelavic has the chance to break it comes to nothing.

23
Howard does come for his long-throw and manages to get a punch on the ball despite the bodies of Crouch, Jones and Fellaini in his path. It's another throw-in though...

22
Gueye replaces Anichebe.

20
Jelavic and Upson in a tangle and the ball comes free to Anichebe but he just runs the ball out of play - he's not looking good and Moyes is going to have to replace the Nigerian forward.

19
Bit of a delay as Anichebe receives treatment.

18
Here comes another big bomb from Delap. He reaches the far post with this one and Huth again is the man who meets it. The German heads over but that's a worry for Everton with Howard unwilling to come for the ball.

16
Dangerous ball from Distin - a centre-back playing at left-back... and now charging down the wing. Begovic stays on his line but he is fortunate and Distin's ball just eludes everyone.

14
Stoke are always after those knock-downs and second balls and Etherington gets on the end of one now. Jagielka can only head as far as the left-winger while under pressure from Jones but the former West Ham man lifts the ball over the bar.

14
Clash of heads between Distin and Walters there and the Stoke man has come off worse but after a quick bit of bandage work he's ok.

12
Now it's Stoke's turn. Etherington dances past Hibbert and tries to find Walters at the far post. The Irishman is a big lad but unfortunately for him the Everton left-back happens to be bigger and Distin heads away.

11
Woeful clearance from Begovic and Everton are starting to take control here. Bright start but haven't found Jelavic yet.

10
Now Fellaini gets the ball inside the Stoke box but miscontrols and the chance is gone.

9
Everton probing down the right but it comes to nothing. Looking at the replay of Shawcross' challenge on Anichebe in the box a moment ago that looked a decent shout for a penalty. The striker can't believe it.

8
Long ball from Heitinga after Jones presses him and it's a poor one, surrendering possession. Even start to the game.

8
Walters crosses from the right flank but it's too close to Howard and the keeper claims.

6
Cute ball from Pienaar into Anichebe inside the area, who turns well and fires left-footed across the box and wins a corner. But Pienaar cannot beat the first man from the resultant deadball.

5
Corner for the visitors at the other end but Distin's header is wide.

4
First long-throw from Delap and it's a good chance! Huth with the header and it bounces in the six-yard box but there's a flag up for offside against Shawcross.

3
Everton mount their first offensive but Pienaar runs into trouble on the edge of the Stoke box. He's down briefly after riding one challenge and banging into the next one but is up now and we're underway again.

2
Stoke with the first attack down the left channel but Jones fouls Jagielka.

1
Tony Hibbert delaying over a throw-in early on after the two teams exchange headers in the centre of the park.

1
Stoke kick-off and we're up and running.

Thanks for your feedback. The players are on the pitch and we'll be getting underway soon.

Nathan Catherall: "Hoping for an Everton win. Jelavic to get our first goal and hopefully Liverpool lose! Fingers crossed - we need seventh place!"

Westley Stewart: "Stoke's solid record against the Toffees versus Everton's good form of late. Hoping for a great match tonight! Jelavic has been devastating so I'm betting on a brace!"

Could be a tough night for the home side? Stoke are the lowest scoring team in the Premier League this season, with only 33 goals. Meanwhile, Everton have allowed their opponents fewer clear cut opportunities (40) than any other Premier League side in 2011-12.

Dan says: "Everton to win 3-0, Jelavic hat-trick, Come on you blues!"

Martha Banks has been in touch to say: "The way we're going lately I fancy another four goals, although Stoke are a tough team so I'm going 2-1 with Jelavic and Pienaar scoring for the Toffees and Crouch for Stoke."

For the home side, Peter Crouch leads the line. The tall striker has scored in four of his last five Premier League games on home soil and perhaps he'll fancy sneaking into Roy Hodgson's England squad with a late run of form? Not literally sneaking in, obviously. He's a big lad.

One to watch in this game is surely ex-Rangers man Nikica Jelavic. If he scores two or more goals here he will be the first player in Premier League history to do so in four consecutive games. It's good Scottish football, isn't it?

Our friends at Sky Bet make Everton narrow favourites in this one but it's very tight. Everton are 8/5 and Stoke are 17/10. The draw is available at 23/10.

"This is Stewart MacLaren from a bright & breezy Torrevieja in Spain saying that Everton will beat Stoke City 2-1 at the Britannia Stadium this evening with good goals from Tim Cahill & Nikica Jelavic." Better than a wet and windy Stoke, I'd have thought...

Stoke: Begovic; Huth, Shawcross, Upson, Wilson; Walters, Delap, Whitehead, Etherington; Jones, Crouch.

Everton: Howard; Hibbert, Heitinga, Jagielka, Distin; Anichebe, Osman, Fellaini, Cahill, Pienaar; Jelavic.

The teams are in and will be up shortly.
