FT: Liverpool 4 Chelsea 1

The referee blows his whistle for full-time. Liverpool have won 4-1 to end the season at Anfield on a high. Chelsea have the Champions League final ahead and they shouldn't be too worried by this result.

Carroll produces a lovely cross from the right and Agger heads the ball wide. This has been a good night for the Liverpool striker.

We are in the first of three minutes of additional time.

Suarez and Kuyt work a neat one-two and the move ends with the striker sending a volley wide.

Liverpool work the corner to Shelvey on the edge of the box and his drive is blocked by Terry. Good defending on a tough night for the Chelsea skipper.

Henderson's drive from the edge of the box is deflected behind for a corner.

Suarez catches Ivanovic with a high boot in the Chelsea penalty are as those two men continue their battle tonight. Free-kick to the away side.

Essien goes for goal but it is yet another poor shot from Chelsea as the ball goes sailing over the bar.

Skrtel pushes Torres to the ground to give Chelsea a free-kick in a position where they can get the ball into the box.

Suarez's free-kick from 35 yards bounces straight off the Chelsea wall and away the ball goes.

Downing finds space in the box but he dwells on the ball and the chance disappears. His pass to Suarez is poor and Chelsea clear.

Suarez catches Ivanovic with his arm as the pair battle for the ball deep in the Chelsea half. The defender falls to the floor but the referee doesn't think there was any intent and he is probably right.

Malouda's free-kick hits the Liverpool wall and the danger is very easily cleared. The Frenchman is one of a number of Chelsea players not to impress tonight.

Chelsea win a free-kick on the right as Torres is fouled.

Carroll goes close as his looping cross from the left lands on the roof of the Chelsea net. Turnbull was struggling as his tough night continues.

Carroll can't take his chance to net as he slices a volley well wide. Has been a good performance from the striker but no goal yet.

Lukaku wastes a great chance to score as his close-range header is superbly stopped by Reina in the centre of his goal.

Chelsea can't make anything of the free-kick as Henderson easily clears. Ramires returns to the field after treatment.

Ramires wins a free-kick on the right as he is bundled over by a strong challenge from Agger. The defender is rightly booked.

Ferreira's looping cross from the right is easily gathered by Reina inside his six-yard box.

Agger's long ball forward races away from Carroll and behind for a goal-kick.

Chelsea make their first change of the night as Romelu Lukaku replaces Sturridge.

Chelsea have been quiet again after Shelvey's strike. That has taken away any thoughts of a comeback unless we see something quite unexpected.

Torres hasn't enjoyed tonight too much. He nearly scored with a terrific effort but has been quiet apart from that one moment of glory.

Carroll concedes a free-kick in the Chelsea box as he catches Romey during his attempt to pull off an elaborate overhead kick.

Real effort there from Carroll as he chases down a long ball and just about manages to prevent the ball going behind for a goal-kick. Chelsea do have a throw.

That was a good finish from Shelvey. He reacted quickly and fired the ball home at speed.

GOAL SHELVEY! Turnbull clears the ball straight to Shelvey and he is caught out of position as the Liverpool midfielder fires home from 35 yards. Not good from the Chelsea goalkeeper.

Shelvey's attempted to play Suarez through on goal doesn't come off as Bertrand easily knocks the ball back to Turnbull and the Chelsea goalkeeper clears.

Sturridge's cross from the left is cleared by Skrtel's header. Chelsea are looking more lively in the final third.

Johnson's storming run down the right ends with his cross scrambled clear by Terry.

Carragher reacts to some danger as he heads the ball clear as Torres tries to race through one-on-on with Reina. Liverpool's defence is having a bit more to do after the break.

Essien makes space for a shot on the edge of the box but it's a really bad effort and goes well wide of Reina's left hand post.

Torres again gets plenty of boos as he collects the ball on the halfway line but all he can do is quickly lose possession.

Liverpool enjoy a spell of pressure again as Turnbull punches a corner from the left away from danger.

Martin Skrtel finds himself in the Chelsea box and makes space for a shot. His effort is blocked by Turnbull and the away side clear.

Do we have game on now? Can Chelsea build on that goal and ramp up the pressure.

GOAL RAMIRES! Chelsea pull a goal back as Malouda's free-kick hits Ramires and beats Reina at his near post. Another bad moment for the Liverpool goalkeeper.

Ramires wins a free-kick on the right flank as he bundled to the ground by Shelvey. Decent chance for Chelsea to create some pressure.

Downing's cross from the right is met by the head of Carroll but Chelsea spot the danger and Turnbull gathers possession.

Will be interesting to see how Chelsea respond to that awful first half. They surely can't do any worse.

This proving to be an interesting last midweek match of the Premier League season. The home fans have certainly got value for money.

A moment of magic from Downing nearly pays dividends as his dipping half-volley strikes the top of the bar and goes over. That really was a terrific effort.

Liverpool keep the ball with ease as Chelsea struggle. Will be interesting to see if Roberto Di Matteo opts to make a few changes at the break.

This half has given Liverpool fans something to smile about. It doesn't make the problems from the season disappear but this has been impressive from the Reds so far tonight.

It has certainly been interesting in the first 30 minutes. Liverpool lead 3-0 and Chelsea have been all over the place at the back. Can the Blues recover?

Not the worst slip of Terry's career but he just hasn't enjoyed the start of this game. He was nutmegged in the build up to the first goal and then allowed Henderson the chance to double Liverpool's advantage.

GOAL HENDERSON! Terry slips and allows Henderson the chance to run through one-on-one with Turnbull. The midfielder takes the chance really well and puts Liverpool 2-0 up.

Turnbull is forced to fire the ball out of play for a throw-in as he comes under pressure from Suarez. Lively game for the striker so far.

Terry is the second Chelsea player to be booked. He was nutmegged for the third time tonight and reacted by fouling Carroll.

That really was great work from Suarez to create the goal. He was crowded out on the right flank but still managed to find the skill to break free.

OWN GOAL ESSIEN! Suarez cuts in from the right flank and nutmegs Terry for the second time tonight. He keeps going and powers the ball against the legs of Michael Essien and the midfielder can only turn the ball into his own net.

Liverpool break at speed and the move ends with Suarez's shot blocked by Terry. Replays show it was very poor marking from the Reds to leave Ivanovic with a free header.

Chelsea go very close to taking the lead as the corner from the left is headed powerfully against Jose Reina's near post by Ivanovic.

Oriol Romeu takes a tumble in the centre of midfield and slices the ball straight to Liverpool. Decent tempo to this match so far.

Liverpool now enjoy some possession but their move ends as Luis Suarez fouls Branislav Ivanovic in the penalty area.

Ryan Bertrand wins a free-kick as he is caught by a high boot from Jordan Henderson. Chelsea the more lively side in the very early stages.

Former Kop idol Fernando Torres returns to Anfield for the first time since his £50million departure in January last year as one of eight changes for Chelsea. With his team the outsiders to finish in the top four, manager Roberto di Matteo makes numerous alterations to the team which won the FA Cup against the Reds on Saturday as this month's Champions League final against Bayern Munich is his primary focus. Liverpool make four changes from their team, with captain Steven Gerrard absent from the squad but Wembley goalscorer Andy Carroll returning to the line-up.
