McLean: Pushing for Terrors debut

Dundee United manager Peter Houston will assess his squad for the opener against Hibs following their 2-2 draw with Dinamo Moscow.

Defender Brian McLean, winger Michael Gardyne and former Falkirk midfielder Mark Millar are all pushing for their debuts after staying on the bench in the Europa League clash.

Goalkeeper Filip Mentel and striker Milos Lacny remain on the long-term injury list.

Hibs boss Pat Fenlon has only one injury to contend with as he takes his side to Tannadice.

Winger Danny Galbraith (groin) is the only player missing from Fenlon's squad, which was slashed over the summer with a raft of players departing Easter Road with the club not having the finances available to bring in the same numbers.

All of Fenlon's new signings are in contention to make their competitive debuts with Tim Clancy, Paul Cairney and Ben Williams all looking to impress at the start of their respective Hibs careers.

Dundee United (from): Cierzniak, Watson, Dillon, Gunning, McLean, Douglas, Flood, Rankin, Ryan, Mackay-Steven, Russell, Daly, Dow, Armstrong, Millar, Gardyne, Robertson, Banks.

Hibernian (from): Williams, Clancy, Booth, Hanlon, McPake, O'Hanlon, Stephens, Kujabi, Smith, Claros, Cairney, Wotherspoon, Sproule, Stevenson, Stanton, Griffiths, Doyle, Caldwell, Grant.
