FT: Aston Villa 1 Everton 3

Thanks for all your comments today folks! Don't forget, you can always follow me on Twitter: @RazMirza or send me your views so speak to you all soon!

FULL-TIME: Everton secure their first victory at Villa Park for seven years. The last time that happened they went on to secure a Champions League spot. Pienaar, Fellaini and Jelavic all scored in the first half before Clark was sent-off just before the hour mark denying Everton a clear goalscoring opportunity. The 10-men did pull a goal back through El Ahmadi, but the visitors deservedly went home with all three points.

90+2
Referee Michael Oliver checks his watch as Brett Holman fires his cross across the face of goal.

90+1
Leon Osman fails to get enough pace on his shot from the edge of the area.

90
Villa were so close to reducing the arrears as we enter stoppage time. The Holte End is virually empty now!

89
OFF THE POST! Andreas Weimann's left-foot shot strikes the base of the post and Darren Bent fails to finish the follow up.

88
Everton's last win at Villa Park came in February 2005, but they're on course for victory this afternoon.

87
OFFSIDE! Kevin Mirallas thought he had scored his first Everton goal with a neat header, but he was just off from Seamus Coleman's cross.

86
SUBSTITUTION: Johnny Heitinga replaces Nikica Jelavic as David Moyes makes his final change.

85
Kevin Mirallas has shown some fine movement since he came on. He can switch from right to left.

83
Villa only have Newcastle away next weekend before the international break.

82
David Moyes have got their transfer business done early this year and look a stronger outfit this year, especially in attack.

81
The home fans start to leave Villa Park. I don't think those two and a half thousand Evertonians will be leaving anytime soon.

80
YELLOW CARD: Karim El Ahmadi is booked for a late challenge.

79
Referee Michael Oliver has awarded Villa a free-kick in the middle of the park, which the fans cheer.

77
El Ahmadi's goal was just Villa's 10th goal since the injury to striker Darren Bent and that will have given them some confidence.

76
This has been a brave effort from the 10-men of Aston Villa.

75
That's the first Aston Villa goal under the reign of manager Paul Lambert.

The Moroccan collects the ball about 25-yards from goal and thumps his right-foot effort past Tim Howard's despairing dive.

74
GOAL!! Karim El Ahmadi

73
Everton's are on course for their 100th Premier League away win here at Villa Park as N'Zogbia fires in a low cross.

70
Villa have won just one of their last 13 Premier League home matches and are on a run of 11 league games without a win.(W1 D5 L7).

69
SUBSTITUTION: Meanwhile, new £5million signing Kevin Mirallas replaces Darron Gibson for Everton.

68
SUBSTITUTION: Andreas Weimann replaces Barry Bannan for Villa.

67
Everton are rampant at the moment and Nathan Baker is having the match of his life for Villa in denying Everton a fourth goal all by himself this half.

66
Gary Fortune is watching from Kabul and he jokes: "Its all gone down hill since Villa sold Emile Heskey!!! Come on Everton."

65
Leighton Baines goes over on the edge of the box as Matt Lowton pulls the defender back.

64
SUBSTITUTION: Seamus Coleman replaces Steven Naismith as Everton make their first change of the match.

63
OFF THE CROSSBAR! Sylvain Distin thumps his header off the woodwork with Given beaten this time. Unlucky!

62
GREAT SAVE! Steven Pienaar's volley is brilliantly turned over by Given.

61
Villa fan Joe is not looking too optimistic. He says: "So poor. Can genuinely see us going down, and wouldn't be surprised. Name one quality player in the Villa team... nope, didn't think so."

60
This could be a long, long half hour to come for the home side.

59
SUBSTITUTION: Eric Lichaj replaces Chris Herd for Villa.

Darron Gibson's wonderful through ball finds the goalscorer Jelavic in the clear until he is pulled back by Clark. Easy decision for referee Michael Oliver. Can this get any worse for Villa?

57
RED CARD!! Ciaran Clark

56
Everton have won none of their last 12 Premier League meetings against Aston Villa, but eight of those games have been draws, including the last six meetings between the sides. That won't be the case today!

55
Karim El Ahmadi looks to create room in the middle of the park as the hosts keep a bit of possession until the deep ball is flicked on by Bent and out for a goal-kick.

54
@VILLAwinner21 Tweets: "It's going to be a long hard season. Can't see it getting any better unless we get some forward power."

53
FINE BLOCK! Solid defending by Phil Jagielka as Barry Bannan attempts to get his shot away from the edge of the box.

52
Ron Vlaar slips on his backside to gift Everton a corner and from the right, Sylvain Distin fails to keep his header down.

51
Elliott emails me to say: "Hi Raz, thanks for the commentary! Villa need three new signings, a defender, central mid and striker before the end of the season. Why is our most creative player on the bench - Ireland?"

50
CRUNCHING TACKLE! Nathan Baker makes a stunning challenge on Steven Naismith who is now injured and in need of some attention.

49
@wallpaperlicker Tweets: "Yesss so happy with evertons start this season after some great summer signings and Fellaini has played class hes a quality player."

48
Everton have started the second half the way they started the first.

47
CLOSE! Nikica Jelavic fires his shot down into the ground and wide.

46
SUBSTITUTION: Brett Holman replaces Nathan Delfouneso at the start of the second half for Villa.

1557
If you'd like to air your views during the second half, email Raz...that's me! at razwan.mirza@bskyb.com or Tweet me: @RazMirza and I'll publish as many as I can.

1555
Aston Villa are now 100/1 to claim victory with @Skybet, who make Everton 1/500 and the draw 50/1. My pre-match prediction of 1-1 is out of the window, but an Everton 5-0 win is now an 8/1 shot?. Head now to SKYBET to place your bets on this match.

HALF-TIME: Aston Villa have a mountain to climb as Everton's supreme start to the season continues. Steven Pienaar broke the deadlock with a stunning strike from the edge of the box after just 3 minutes before Marouane Fellaini added a second just after the hour mark after a clanger from goalkeeper Shay Given. And two minutes before the interval Nikica Jelavic buried Leighton Baines' low left-wing cross.

45
Tim Howard has to make a save as Barry Bannan has a go from long-range to the cheers of the Holte Enders.

His last 28 goals have been scored with one touch as the striker turns home Leighton Baines' low cross from the left. Beautiful finish!

44
GOAL!! Nikica Jelavic

43
Now it's Everton's turn to break forward but Marouane Fellaini's weak shot is collected by Given.

42
Karim El Ahmadi attempts to find Darren Bent, but his pass is cut out.

41
Phil Neville combines with Steven Naismith until Villa win the ball back and Charles N'Zogbia goes on a lung bursting run down the pitch, until he is crowded out.

39
On the balance of play Everton have fully deserved to be leading this game 2-0.

38
Paul Lambert is sitting down on his seat and wondering what to do next.

37
Nikica Jelavic handles the ball just as the ball drops down to him on the edge of the box. The Croatian would have been in the clear.

35
Nikica Jelavic is unhappy with a challenge from Matt Lowton.

34
Villa are backing off and allowing Everton to keep the ball as Steven Pienaar struggles on the far side.

33
Aston Villa can't really get a kick in this game because the visitors are so dominant.

What a start to the season for Everton and they're flying at Villa Park as the cross by Phil Jagielka from the right is headed past Shay Given by Fellaini. Given will be disappointed to have allowed such a soft header, which was straight at him, to beat him.

31
GOAL!! Marouane Fellaini

30
These deliveries have really let Villa down this afternoon and Lambert will have to address this at the break.

29
Marouane Fellaini fouls the flying Chris Herd for a free-kick down the right and once again, it's a waste.

28
Barry Bannan wins the ball back and now Ron Vlaar sends his crossfield pass out for a throw.

27
Darren Bent works hard to win the ball back but then fails to control the return pass.

26
The inswinger from the right drifts over the head of defender Ron Vlaar.

25
Anywhere will do for defender Sylvain Distin as Marouane Fellaini handles the ball for a free-kick.

24
Only Manchester City and Manchester United conceded less goals than Everton last season. They're a very stubborn side to break down as Villa are finding out this afternoon.

23
N'Zogbia wins a free-kick, but his delivery leaves a lot to be desired.

22
Interesting stat regarding Gibson. It's been 28 League games since he tasted defeat!

21
UNLUCKY! Darron Gibson has a pop from long-range, which has Shay Given worried.

20
Applause ring around for Villa's No.19 Stiliyan Petrov in the 19th minutes of the game as the home side come forward. The leukaemia-battling captain is in remission.

19
Now it's Villa's turn to keep a bit of possession until N'Zogbia runs out of room down the left hand side.

18
The crowd cheer as Villa win a throw and now Baker finds Matt Lowton down the left.

17
Better from Villa until three Everton players surround Charles N'Zogbia and win the ball off him.

16
CLOSE! Leighton Baines' inswinging corner is headed just over by Nikica Jelavic.

15
Everton are controlling the tempo and rhythm as they win a third corner of the match.

14
Nathan Baker goes in hard on Steven Naismith and now Steven Pienaar loses out in a 50-50.

13
Darron Gibson's delivery is not the best and Villa clear up to halfway. The sun is out and the pitch is like a carpet, but the men in white shirts and blue shorts are looking like the more confident outfit at this moment.

11
Everton win their second corner-kick of the afternoon.

10
The home crowd have been silenced and Lambert is looking a worried man on the touchline.

8
Everton are the more positive side and are starting to dominate the early possession.

7
The corner is cleared to Leighton Baines whose cross finds Nikica Jelavic at the back post, but his header is just over the crossbar.

6
That was Everton's first shot of the game after Villa had started the brighter and now the visitors have won a corner.

5
This is the 195th time these two sides have met and we've already had an explosive start to the game.

The winger collects Marouane Fellaini's pass and unleashes a stunning right-foot curler into the far corner. Unstoppable shot

3
GOAL!! Steven Pienaar

Villa Park is packed and the place is jumping as Nathan Delfouneso gets away down the right, but his cross is cleared to safety.

1
Villa will attack the famous Holte End in the first-half and in one of the oldest fixtures in English football, the home side get us underway.

1459
And Ashley from Weston-Super-Mare says: "These are the games we need to win if we want to be in European competition next year, I think we can win today, I'm going for 2-1 with Naismith and Jelavic getting the goals and Bent for Villa. Would rather have Fellaini behind Jelavic and Naismith on the right with Osman in centre midfield but "In Moyes We Trust!!""

1459
Henry emails me to say: "Definitely going for an Everton win 2-0, Jelavic to grab the first and then Mirallas to score late on after he comes on at half time!"

1459
Alan Newton says: "I'm hoping for 3-1 Everton with Jelavic 2 and Naismith bagging the goals. My wife and I are watching from "Hurricane Warning" Miami where it's already very wet and wild. COYBB." Bit like Sunderland then Alan!

1458
Joe says: "Hi, Everton should have no problems here, they started really well by beating United and i think Everton should win this 3 or 4 nil."

1457
Everton fan Tom Mallows Tweets me to say: "Hi Raz, enjoying your comms from Leeds fest, just give me a shout when Everton score."

1455
Villa managed only four home wins last season, a club record, but the home fans are out in force this afternoon as the teams prepare to enter the pitch.

1452
Danny in Cleethorpes says: "I can't see Everton losing this today. I'll very disappointed if they do. Jealvic and Osman for Everton, if anyone for Villa, it'll be Bent."

1451
@alcatrazam Tweets me to say: "2-0 Everton. No conceding for the first two games of PL play!"

1450
Aston Villa are 2/1 to claim victory with @Skybet, who make Everton 11/8 and the draw 9/4. Villa's Darren Bent is favourite to bag the first goal for the hosts at 5/1 and is 40/1 to bag a hat-trick at what is sure to be a packed Villa Park. Nathan Delfouneso is 8/1 while Charles N'Zogbia is 9/2 to score in 90 minutes and Karim El Ahmadi is 22/1 to score first. Meanwhile, the Toffees' Nikica Jelavic is 11/2 and Monday night hero Marouane Fellaini is 15/2 to score first. Steven Pienaar is 5/1 score in 90 minutes this afternoon. Six of the last seven Premier League games between Villa and Everton have been draws so I'm hedging my bets and going for another draw - 1-1, which is priced at a steady 5/1. Head now to SKYBET to place your bets on this match.

1447
Everton defender Tony Hibbert has been ruled out with a stiff neck and, in a reshuffle, skipper Phil Neville switches from midfield to replace him with summer signing Steven Naismith handed a full debut in attack.

1445
So Villa boss Paul Lambert makes three changes from the side beaten at West Ham. Play-maker Stephen Ireland, winger Brett Holman and midfielder Fabian Delph make way for Nathan Delfouneso, Barry Bannan and Chris Herd respectively.

ASTON VILLA: Given, Lowton, Vlaar, Baker, Clark, N'Zogbia, Herd, El Ahmadi, Bannan, Delfouneso, Bent.

SUBSTITUTES: Guzan, Ireland, Holman, Delph, Weimann, Lichaj, Burke.

EVERTON: Howard, Neville, Jagielka, Distin, Baines, Osman, Pienaar, Gibson, Naismith, Jelavic, Fellaini.

SUBSTITUTES: Mucha, Heitinga, Mirallas, Gueye, Barkley, Coleman, Anichebe.

REFEREE: Michael Oliver (Northumberland).

1437
Here come the teams at last...

1435
While Jake in north London reckons: "The blue boys Everton will win this one 0-2, with Osman and Jelavic scoring, but Lamberts men will not make it easy."

1434
Everton fan Josh says: "2-0 everton I believe! Naismith and Jelavic scoring with Fellaini getting both assists."

1433
Here's one for you Tom, Osman has five career goals against Villa. Everton's long serving midfielder will also be making his 250th Premier League appearance for the club today if he starts.

1432
Tom Futcher, in Salisbury says: "Come On you blue boys! We need to continue the strong start, and bag another 3 points here, I'm going for a 1-0 to Everton with a goal from Leon Osman. Probably the most under-rated player in the premier league!!!!"

1427
Meanwhile, Tom and Tarryn Craig have emailed in to say: "We think everton will roll over Villa today and win 3-0. Goals from Jelavic, Naismith and Osman. We are watching from Cambodia on our honeymoon knocking back some beers! All the best." Congratulations!

1425
Jon in Birmingham says: "It'll be a tough outing for the Villa today with Everton in form, however i fancy the cracking atmosphere for Lamberts' first game to carry the lads through. I think it will be close with Villa just nicking it 2-1. Pienaar, N'Zogbia and a late Bent winner to be on the scoresheet today."

1420
Keep those comments coming in ladies and gentlemen. Email Raz...that's me! at razwan.mirza@bskyb.com or Tweet me: @RazMirza and I'll publish as many as I can.

1419
Meanwhile, Ken from Tamworth emails me to say: "Come on Lamberts Lions! Let's have our first 3 points on the board today! Firefighter on duty and sad not to be there!"

1416
Stewart MacLaren from a hot and humid Torrevieja in Spain is first to send me an email today. He says: "Everton will beat Aston Villa 2-1 at Villa Park this Afternoon with goals from Marouane Fellaini and Nikica Jelavic." Well, Fellaini is the form man isn't he!

1415
As soon as the teams are in, I will let you know folks!

1414
Moyes is expected to make a late decision on whether to include Kevin Mirallas in his side to face Villa. The Belgium international has only had a couple of days' training since signing on Sunday and although he has had intensive sessions Moyes is unsure about the player's fitness. Sylvain Distin (back) and Nikica Jelavic (groin) are minor injury concerns.

1413
Striker Nathan Delfouneso will be available to provide back-up to Bent after a thigh injury while defender Chris Herd is fit following a similar problem. Gary Gardner has been ruled out for "eight to nine months" by an anterior cruciate ligament injury. The midfielder suffered the injury whilst playing for the under-21 side against Stoke in midweek. Striker Gabriel Agbonlahor (knee), defender Richard Dunne (groin) and winger Marc Albrighton (foot) are still sidelined while youngster Samir Carruthers has an ankle problem.

1412
In terms of the transfer market, Lambert has ruled out moves for strikers Jermain Defoe and Kenwyne Jones, but admits he is in the market for new signings before the window closes next week. "I can understand the frustration because I was frustrated myself. From back to middle we did fine. You can't have that much of the ball and not create a chance and that is something I have to rectify." Are you Villa fans feeling the frustration? Who would you like to see Lambert bring in? Send me your thoughts please.

1410
Paul Lambert will be hoping to make a winning start in his first game in charge at Villa Park. The Scot has conceded that his side need to do more to support Darren Bent after the England forward barely had a touch in last weekend's opening day defeat at West Ham.

1407
On the transfer market, Moyes has not ruled out adding to his squad before the close of the window. "I think we have got a good team," said the Scot. "You could see we had a strong bench against United but if we lose one or two we will be short so we have to try to maybe add one or two more. But if I don't I won't be too disappointed."

1405
Everton go into this game in fine fettle having produced their first opening day win in five years against Manchester United at Goodison Park on Monday night. David Moyes' men have suffered just three defeats in 24 games. They're aiming for a club record 11 Premier League games unbeaten and will look to end another poor record at Villa, where they have not won since February 2005. What are your thoughts on today's game Everton fans? Send me your views and how you think your side will fare this season.

1401
