FT: Norwich 1 QPR 1

Norwich 1 QPR 1. A point apiece at Carrow Road. Both sides will take that given what they went through last week. An entertaining game and both sides look capable of steering well clear of trouble this season.

Closing stages. Will there be one last chance? Norwich look for Morison, and Fabio concedes two throws in quick succession. Nothing happening for the hosts. QPR look to counter, but Cisse is offside yet again.

Park looks wide towards Bosingwa. He has space to move into, but sets off late and is unable to prevent the ball from slipping out of play. Nice play from Norwich has Snodgrass bombing to the by-line, but he can't pull the ball back for a team-mate.

QPR happy to sit now and protect what they have. Morison wins the ball in the air as Norwich go long, but the loose ball drops to a man in a hooped shirt.

Three minutes of stoppage-time to be played.

We are back underway. Zamora hammers the ball back to Norwich. Ruddy claims in front of his goal. Smile from Zamora. Morison unable to get the Canaries moving down their right.

Cisse beats the offside trap this time, but Ruddy is alert enough to race out of his box and hammer clear. Hoilett goes down clutching his face. He jumped into Howson's elbow.

Double change by Norwich as Holt and Jackson make way for Morison and Chris Martin. New strike force thrown on by Hughton.

Cisse running into open field, but yet again he is flagged offside. On this occasion both he and Zamora had strayed beyond the last man.

Final change for QPR sees Diakite make way for Derry. Hughes throwing on experience to shore things up.

Pilkington forces another corner. He takes the set-piece himself. Delivery is not the best again, as Mackie is able to volley clear. Snodgrass then eases the pressure on QPR by conceding a free-kick.

Diakite under pressure from Holt and QPR lose the ball inside their own half. Norwich still hungry and full of energy. Have they got enough left in the tank to grab a winner?

Snodgrass' delivery is glanced behind by Ferdinand. Norwich take the set-piece quickly. Pilkington hangs the ball to the back post, where Martin sees a looping header cannon off the face of the crossbar.

Ferdinand goes into the book. He is now in charge of looking after Holt. He struggles on this occasion as the big striker turns him. Ferdinand hauls Holt to the deck.

Another poor effort sails high into the crowd. Good hold up play from Jackson allows Norwich to work the ball to Pilkington. From 25 yards out he gets underneath his shot and almost clears the stand.

Still no joy for Cisse. Flag up again as he fails to look along the line. If he had done, he could have dropped a yard and then span in behind. Not been his afternoon.

Plenty of pace on the delivery from Snodgrass, but too much height. Holt is the target towards the back post, but he can't grow enough to get a telling touch. At the other end, Zamora fires high into the crowd with a wild effort.

Holt tries to brush off three defenders, but can't keep his balance as he arrives at the penalty area. Solid challenge put in by Onuoha. Fabio then catches Snodgrass with a stray arm. Free-kick to Norwich wide on their right.

Wayward from Martin as he floats a ball over the top and out of play. Snodgrass looked to break in behind, but then checked. He would never have caught up with the heavy pass anyway.

Cisse thinks he is clear and in on goal. He was, however, a good two yards offside when the ball was fed through to him. He never got back onside as the Norwich defence pushed out.

Bassong comes over Zamora to win a header. He is said to have fouled the QPR striker. QPR opt against putting the ball into the box. Bosingwa involved for the first time, but he decides against breaking over halfway.

Zamora is finally back with us, sporting a fetching bandage on a head wound. As he re-enters the fold, Jackson slices another effort off target.

Storm brewing overhead. The sunshine is long gone. Thunder and lightning now and things look like they might be about to get a bit wet. That will pose a new challenge to both sides.

Brilliant vision from Park as he sprays a long ball from well inside his own half for Cisse to chase down the middle. He has the pace to get away from the Norwich defence, but the ball skips off the turf and through to Ruddy.

Debut for Bosingwa as comes on in place of Traore. Bosingwa comes over to the right, with Fabio moved to the left.

Johnson escapes Mackie and picks out Garrido. He fires over a brilliant cross, which is met by Snodgrass bursting into the box. He makes solid contact with a header but, from six yards out, he nods over the top.

Norwich keeping the ball, being patient. QPR sitting deep, with 10 men. Norwich probing, but they are faced with two banks of four in front of them.

Zamora forced off after taking a blow to the face. He heads off down the tunnel. Expect him to be back as he didn't seem too keen to leave.

Snodgrass in again, but he can't pick out Jackson. Holt had pulled away to the penalty spot. Pilkington keeps the ball in play and returns it to the box. Green flaps slightly, but wins a free-kick as he is sent crashing to the turf.

Garrido nods away from Mackie. Norwich puring forward now. They are asking all the questions following a bright opening to the second half by QPR. Still all square, though, as things stand.

Brave battling from Snodgrass. He is halted by Park, but bounces back to his feet and wins a free-kick off Traore wide on the Norwich right. Snodgrass takes himself and almost finds Bassong. He had a free header but failed to make proper contact.

Park trips Jackson in the middle of the park after being crowded out by three yellow shirts. Home support doing their best to bring an extra 10 per cent out of their side.

Onuoha involved in a foot race with Jackson. The Norwich striker is quick, but the QPR defender manages to get his body across Jackson's path and prevent him from reaching the ball.

Onuoha takes no chances as he hammers clear. Norwich come straight back at QPR. A pass down the left intended for Pilkington gives the winger no chance and runs behind for a goal kick.

Park dinks this set-piece into the box. Plenty of pushing inside the box, but the ball is cleared. Norwich unable to push out of their own box, until Cisse commits a needless foul by jumping into Barnett.

Terrible effort from Hoilett as he pokes the ball into Norwich's six-man wall. His strike barely leaves the ground. QPR win another free-kick as Johnson fells Diakite with a full-blooded challenge. He gets a talking to.

Clumsy challenge bu Bassong on Mackie 20 yards from goal, in a central position. He dived in when the ball was already gone. Real chance for QPR to test Ruddy.

Fabio with a hanging cross from wide on the QPR right. Hoilett isn't the biggest but he challenges Martin at the back post. The ball runs away for a QPR throw down by the corner flag.

Great build-up from Norwich. Martin swings over a dangerous cross, which Ferdinand does really with to nod clear from in front of Holt.

Hoilett turns the ball around the corner for Traore to chase. He didn't read the flick. Garrido is then invited forward from full-back for Norwich. He keeps the ball moving.

QPR looking a bit hurried now. Looking at the Green incident again from a few moments ago, he did appear to handle outside the box. He is a lucky boy.

Martin long down the line for Holt. He hooks the ball into the area, but Jackson is beaten in the air by Ferdinand. QPR break through Hoilett. He plays a one-two with Zamora, but then fires in a tame shot.

Norwich have slipped back into their stride. They are now playing keep-ball at the back. The ball is then fired long towards Jackson. Green is forced right to the edge of his box to deal with the threat.

Better from Norwich as they work the ball to their right. Howson sees a cross deflected to the edge of the box. QPR can only half-clear. Jackson takes over and goes for goal again. He fires narrowly over the top from just inside the box.

Cisse with a towering header, but his touch can't find Zamora. Norwich go all the way back to Ruddy. They need another spell of possession as things are looking a bit rushed at times.

Martin finds Jackson. He does well to work the ball past Park and wrap his leg around and get a cross in. Fabio has to put the ball behind. Pilkington's corner is not the best and is easily cleared.

Snodgrass not moving too freely at the moment. It would be a blow for the hosts if he has to go off as he has looked really bright. Surman has been sent out to warm up.

Hoilett unable to bring the ball down and turn 30 yards from goal. Bassong then clears straight to Park. QPR move the ball well and Zamora floats it over the top for Cisse. He beats the offside trap but can't get a toe to a dropping ball.

QPR now working hard to win the ball back in the Norwich half. Hughes will have demanded more from them at the break. Hughton already off the bench waving at his troops.

Norwich so close to restoring their lead. Jackson hammers into the side netting. He breaks away from Traore, who really needed to be stronger. Jackson went near post, when he should have gone across goal.

QPR get the second half underway.

QPR change at the interval as Onuoha replaces Hill.

The players are back with us and we are ready for the off once more. Get the feeling there are more goals in this.

Remember you can bet in-play at Skybet.com. Norwich are now 11/8 to take the spoils, with QPR 5/2 and the draw 6/4. You can get 3/1 on Norwich winning the game 2/1.

Norwich 1 QPR 1. Honours even at the interval. Norwich enjoyed the better start and broke the deadlock through Jackson. Zamora levelled after Ruddy had saved Cisse's penalty. Still all to play for.

Mackie eases past Garrido, but Johnson comes around to cover and is able to see the ball out of play. Goal kick to the hosts. That could be it for the first half.

Zamora tracks back to win the ball and pick out Hoilett. QPR looking to string passes together and wait for gaps to open up. They are able to win a throw deep in Norwich territory.

Two minutes of stoppage-time to be played.

Green takes an opportunity to slow things down. He then drills long towards Zamora. Diakite then drives forward from midfield, but each time QPR press there is a yellow door blocking their path.

Hill down again, arms spread on the turf. Holt ran into him, but did nothing wrong. Both men end up on the deck. Hill moved into the path of Holt. It could be a long afternoon for those two.

Cisse forced back into his own half to collect the ball. QPR have been better in the last few minutes, but they still aren't offering much of a threat in the final third. Another foul, this time by Hoilett.

Space for Snodgrass to take a touch and set his sights 20 yards out. His effort has plenty of power, but flies very central and Green can touch over the top. Snodgrass' corner is cleared.

Long clearance from Fabio almost falls for Cisse. He loses his footing at the vital moment. Norwich work the ball out to Pilkington. His cross is aimed at Jackson, but Hill does really well to get a clearing header in.

Norwich suddenly spring forward through Johnson. He sets his sights from 30 yards. Wrong option as his effort is blocked and he had options right and left. QPR's turn to move forward again. Fabio hangs up a cross, but Zamora can do no more than flick it behind for a goal kick.

Norwich just struggling to get out of their own half at the moment. QPR looking composed and prepared to push men forward. Park doing a great job keeping things ticking over in midfield.

Another decision goes the way of the visitors. Good play again from Mackie as he holds the ball up and forces Garrido to bump into him. Free-kick worked wide, then into the box. Bassong hacks to safety.

Mackie does really well after finding himself stuck by the corner flag. QPR can't get a delivery into the box, though. They try to work the ball to the other side of the field. but Diakite's pass towards Hoilett is terrible and rolls out of play.

Park wins a free-kick for QPR on halfway. Ferdinand lumps the set-piece into the box. Cisse nods down from in front of Bassong, but can't find the run of Mackie. Norwich hack clear.

Pilkington swings the free-kick to the back post. Hill punches the air as a decision finally goes his way. Clattenburg having a word with the QPR defender. He is walking a fine line. Would have been a stupid dismissal as the decisions against him have all been justified.

Holt and Hill involved in another coming together. The Norwich striker collects the ball and looks to cut across the edge of the box. He is tugged to the ground. Hill has to be careful as he has already been booked.

Holt throwing his weight around, which Norwich need him to do. He is such a handful and has Hill worried every time the ball comes his way. Holt works so hard for the collective cause and continues to drift wide and offer a target.

Hoilett takes his revenge, but on Snodgrass. Advantage played as Norwich pile forward. Pilkington stands up Ferdinand, but can't beat him. Great football again from the hosts as they sweep the ball from right to left.

Nice touch from Diakite in midfield. QPR can't keep hold of the ball, though. Hoilett is caught on the ankle by the follow through of a Howson tackle. Nothing given, and rightly so.

Poor back-pass from Hill has Green racing through his own penalty area. He just about keeps the ball in play but has to concede a throw. Jackson asking questions again and Park has to get back to put in a timely tackle.

Pilkington goes for goal from the free-kick. Not the best choice as he sends a wild 35-yard effort sailing high into the stands.

Tackles flying in. Snodgrass slides in on Traore. He won the ball, fortunately for him. Traore, who is less than impressed with the challenge on him, then concedes a free-kick. Norwich move the ball forward and Hill has his arms all over Holt again.

Nervy defending from Norwich as a long ball is allowed to travel a long way. Garrido is caught under a bouncing ball, allowing Mackie in behind. He hooks back across the face, but Barnett is able to clear from in front of Cisse.

Martin involved again as he charges forward from full-back. He allows Snodgrass to take over, and he glides past Traore. He gets to the by-line and fires across the face of goal. Ferdinand in the right place to clear. Pilkington then sends a low 20-yard drive straight at Green.

Snodgrass whips the free-kick to the back post. Martin arrives on cue, but has a collection of bodies in front of him and can only send his header wide of the upright.

Diakite loses out to Jackson in midfield. Holt pulls wide to the right and runs at Hill. Poor defending as the QPR man puts in a rugby tackle on the Norwich skipper. He is cautioned as a result.

Just seen another replay of the QPR goal. Zamora was well inside the box when the spot kick was taken. It's been and gone now, though.

Snodgrass floats the ball towards the back post. Holt challenges and does enough to force a corner. Snodgrass' corner is cleared. Free-kick to QPR for pushing and shoving inside the box.

Ironic cheers as Hill is pulled up for coming through the back of Jackson. Free-kick to Norwich 35 yards from goal. A long way out but Snodgrass and Johnson fancy it.

Goal has come against the run of play and Bassong wasn't happy with the awarding of the penalty. Norwich need to put that setback to one side. Bassong did dive in, but he barely made contact with Cisse.

GOAL QPR - ZAMORA. Cisse takes the spot kick and Ruddy does brilliantly to get down low to his right and push the ball onto the post. Zamora reacts quickest and tucks home the rebound. Ruddy livid with those in front of him.

Hoilett pokes the ball low into the box. It rolls past Zamora and towards Cisse. He goes down under pressure from Bassong. Doesn't appear to be much in it, but Clattenburg points to the spot.

Better from QPR, until they feed the ball up to Zamora. It bounces off him too easily. Norwich showing how it should be done as they hunt the ball down early, and in packs.

Cisse takes a knock to the back of head, but bounces back up. Hughes keen to have a word with a few of his players as a break in play allows those in action to take some fluid on board. The visitors haven't offered a lot so far.

QPR need to start pressing higher up the field. They are pegged back again as Pilkington skips past Fabio. Hill has to head behind. Zamora clears the corner at the front post. Pilkington has a second try, but again QPR can clear.

Jackson beats Ferdinand for pace, but has no support in the middle. Snodgrass, who is popping up all over the place, involved again as he dinks a cross to the back post. Holt has gone near.

Hughton looks happy, and he has every reason to. The decision to bring Jackson back into the starting XI has paid off. Norwich good value for their lead.

GOAL NORWICH - JACKSON. Brilliant flowing move from the hosts ends up with the ball in the net. Snodgrass, from a central start, feeds the ball wide to Pilkington. He provides the perfect cross for Jackson to bundle home from close range.

Norwich seeing a lot more of the ball at the moment. QPR have plenty of men back, though, and the Canaries can't break through.

Johnson only has eyes for the ball as he goes for a high clearance. He clatters into Garrido, an unsuspecting team-mate. Haven't see too much of debutant Bassong so far, but he walks the ball forward on this occasion. Comfortable in possession.

Johnson pushes well forward, but sees an attempted cross charged down by Park. No joy either for Snodgrass as he tries to produce a telling delivery. Ball ends up behind for a goal kick.

Diakite charging forward, brushing Norwich tackles aside. Garrido is able to get a toe to the ball and poke it behind. Corner taken short, then across the edge of the box. Park delivers, but Hill climbs all over Holt at the back post. Free-kick.

Park takes the set-piece short to Hoilett. Opportunity missed. QPR soon back on the ball, with Cisse prepared to drop deep and collect from his midfield. Mackie eventually feeds a cross into the six-yard box, but straight into the arms of Ruddy.

Hoilett glides forward, looking to cut inside from the left. Norwich have enough men back. Barnett does, however, concede a free-kick for climbing on the back of Zamora. More central this time for the visitors.

Cisse keeps the ball in play and swings a cross to the back post. Ruddy caught underneath the delivery, but touches it behind. The resulting corner comes to nothing. Snodgrass leads a Norwich counter. No way through.

Garrido snaps in on Mackie, but concedes a free-kick. Chance for QPR to load the box as Park lines the ball up wide on the right wing. His delivery is deep and is glanced clear by Johnson.

Ferdinand back on the field and does enough to prevent Jackson from slipping down the Norwich left. Garrido tries to whip a cross into the box, but sees his delivery blocked. QPR clear their lines.

Ferdinand climbed with Holt and has been left on the deck. He requires treatment. He looks a bit groggy as he makes his way from the field, but should be okay. Early break in proceedings.

Martin floats a high ball towards Holt's head from just inside the QPR half. The Norwich skipper rises well to meet the delivery, but can't divert the ball on target or towards a team-mate.

Norwich get us up and running.

The players emerge from the tunnel to a great noise from those inside the ground. Pre-match rituals now underway.

Norwich new boy Alexander Tettey introduced to the crowd. Quick wave and away he goes. He will be an interested observer this afternoon.

Sprinklers on to make the surface nice and slick. Crazy to think that Sunderland v Reading has been called off due to a waterlogged pitch and here the ground staff are trying to get more moisture onto the field!

Players heading back to the dressing room. Last chance for Hughton and Hughes to get their point across. Both will be looking for a massive improvement on last week.

Sun breaking through at Carrow Road. Two teams seemingly set up to go in search of goals. How will the game play out? Get your views in to Chris.Burton@bskyb.com or @SkySportsChrisB.

Today's referee is Mark Clattenburg.

No surprise to see Hughton shuffle his pack given what happened last week. Hughes, however, has kept faith with many of those who bombed against Swansea, meaning Bosingwa must make do with a place on the bench.

QPR team: Green, Diakite, Traore, Ferdinand, Hill, Park, Cisse, Mackie, Fabio, Hoilett, Zamora. Subs: Murphy, Derry, Johnson, Taarabt, Wright-Phillips, Onuoha, Bosingwa.

Norwich team: Ruddy, R. Martin, Johnson, Bassong, Snodgrass, Howson, Holt, Jackson, Pilkington, Garrido, Barnett. Subs: Rudd, Surman, Hoolahan, Morison, Tierney, R. Bennett, C. Martin.

You can also bet in-play throughout the afternoon at Skybet.com. Norwich start as favourites at 13/10, with QPR 2/1 and the draw 12/5. You can get Grant Holt at 9/2 to open the scoring, or maybe you fancy Djibril Cisse at 6/1.

Can Chris Hughton break his duck as Norwich boss? Will Mark Hughes get a return on his summer investment? Who will be the players to keep an eye on? Let me know your thoughts.

Norwich were hammered 5-0 on the road at Fulham, while QPR were beaten by the same scoreline by Swansea at Loftus Road. How will they respond to such heavy defeats?

Both sides will be looking to respond positively to opening day nightmares, with the second round of fixtures offering an opportunity to get up and running.
