FT: Tottenham 1 Norwich 1

The whistle goes for full-time and Norwich have picked up a well-earned point after a 1-1 draw at Tottenham, which leaves both sides without a victory in the Premier League this season.

90+3
Norwich break quickly but Johnson's powerful shot is well saved by Friedel, who has been Tottenham's most impressive player today.

90+2
Dembele tries to unlock the door as time runs out but there is no way through and his weak shot is easily held by Ruddy.

90+1
Four minutes of stoppage time have been signalled and it is Norwich who will fancy their chances of snatching a late winner as they go up against ten men.

89
RED CARD Huddlestone may have only just come on but he is already walking off after being dismissed for a foul on Howson which left the Norwich player requiring treatment, although the replays suggest the decision was a tad harsh.

87
Bale gets shown a yellow card for a show of petulance after being denied what he felt should have been a corner, throwing the ball away in anger.

86
Huddlestone has a sledgehammer of a shot but he does not make Ruddy work here with an effort that flies well wide.

85
GOAL Snodgrass draws Norwich level with a well-controlled volley from inside the area after Martin and Holt had done well to set him up following a high ball into the box.

83
Tottenham became very nervous in the closing stages against West Brom last week before eventually conceding an equaliser, and there is a lot of anxiety around White Hart Lane again right now.

81
Villas-Boas attempts to shore things up for the final ten minutes by taking off Defoe and introducing Huddlestone, who had looked set to leave Tottenham during the transfer window.

80
Adebayor shows his strength to hold up play and win a corner for Tottenham, relieving the pressure and putting Norwich on the back foot again.

79
Norwich have certainly not given up hope here, as Garrido delivers a dangerous cross that Gallas deals with effectively.

78
Bale makes Ruddy work with another shot from distance that takes a slight deflection but not enough to trouble the keeper.

76
Norwich's players scream for a penalty as Morison goes down in the area under pressure from Assou-Ekotto, but their appeals fall on deaf ears. The replays suggest Assou-Ekotto may have been fortunate as he was tugging the substitute's shirt.

74
Bale picks out Lennon with a fine long pass but Adebayor surrenders possession when the ball is played into him in a tight area.

72
Hughton makes his first change of the afternoon as he replaces Jackson with Morison in an effort to get Norwich back into the game.

70
The Tottenham crowd is in good spirits after that goal and the home team now look much more confident as they pass it around with greater purpose.

68
GOAL Dembele scores on his debut with a fine finish from just inside the area that arrows into the bottom corner, having turned inside Howson with a neat piece of skill.

66
Assou-Ekotto's outswinging cross finds its way through to Defoe in the centre but appears to catch the striker a little by surprise and he is unable to control it.

64
Neither Bale nor Lennon have quite been on top of their game today, which is a major drawback when Tottenham rely so heavily on their wingers.

62
Pilkington smashes a powerful shot at goal from a tight angle and Friedel pulls off another smart stop.

60
Defoe steps up to the free-kick and sees his effort deflect off the defensive wall, which is not really a surprise as it had crept forward several yards, and go behind for a corner.

59
Bassong brings down Defoe right on the edge of the box and the referee decides it is a free-kick, although looking at the replay he could have easily awarded a penalty.

58
There seems to be a bit more urgency about Tottenham's play just at the moment, as they sense this is a game they really have to win.

56
Villas-Boas brings on a second striker as Adebayor comes on for his first appearance since signing a permanent deal with Tottenham, replacing Sigurdsson.

55
Bale takes aim with a shot from 25 yards that has Ruddy diving away to his left but flies over the crossbar.

53
Norwich have picked up where they left off in the first half and are keeping Tottenham penned in their own half just at the moment.

51
Holt has a chance to open the scoring but directs his header over the bar from Snodgrass' clever pass. Will Norwich be made to pay for these missed opportunities?

49
Gallas concedes a free-kick just outside the area for a foul on Jackson, and Snodgrass curls a weak effort wide of Friedel's left-hand post.

48
Dembele is seeing plenty of the ball already and his introduction has given the Spurs fans a lift, which was needed after a lacklustre first half.

47
Spurs come close to breaking the deadlock within moments of the restart as Sigurdsson fires a volley straight at Ruddy from 12 yards.

46
Tottenham get the second half started and they have made the change the fans wanted, bringing on Dembele to make his debut in place of Sandro.

The half-time whistle goes and the crowd make their feelings clear with loud jeers as the players walk off. Norwich have carved out the two best chances so far and Tottenham have lacked a creative spark, but it is still goalless and there is everything to play for after the interval.

44
Norwich are finishing the first half on top as they exert pressure on the Tottenham defence with a sustained spell of possession.

42
Tottenham may have just signed a new keeper but Lloris will have to fight for his place in the side while Friedel can still produce saves like he just has done. The American, 41, shows remarkable agility to spring to his right and parry Snodgrass' powerful header, before Gallas helps get the ball clear as Johnson tries to hunt down the rebound.

40
Snodgrass sends over a threatening cross from a free-kick wide on the right and Martin nearly gets on the end of it once again, but Gallas wins the aerial battle to head the ball away to safety.

38
Defoe has been in fine form recently but there is a malfunction in his radar on this occasion as he volleys over from outside the area.

37
Bale and Lennon have temporarily switched sides and the ball is spread from one to the other before coming back to Sandro in midfield, with the Brazilian blasting an ambitious shot from long distance high into the stands.

35
Lennon wins a corner for Tottenham as his cross is blocked by Garrido, following a slick passing move that also involved Gallas and Sigurdsson.

33
Norwich look assured in possession as they knock the ball around at the back, much to the irritation of the White Hart Lane faithful.

31
Bale stings the palms of Ruddy with a ferocious, swerving effort from outside the area, and the keeper then pulls off another solid stop from a Sandro shot that bounces just in front of him.

30
There have been too many wayward passes from Tottenham in the opening half an hour and they have struggled to find any sort of rhythm.

28
Lennon has the chance to shoot after bursting into the area but dwells too long on the ball and Norwich are able to deal with the danger as it is squared back to Sigurdsson.

26
Howson delivers a fizzing cross from the right that is headed away by Vertonghen, but only as far as Johnson 25 yards from goal and he smashes a powerful strike over the crossbar.

25
Pilkington wriggles away from Walker down the Norwich left but is unable to get his cross off the ground and it is cleared by the first defender.

23
Tottenham are devoid of ideas at the moment and missing the creativity of Modric and Van der Vaart.

22
Assou-Ekotto charges forward down the left but cannot control Gallas' long diagonal ball and Spurs' supporters will be starting to get frustrated.

20
Norwich conceded five against Fulham on the opening weekend but they have been far more organised here, with the midfielders working hard and Tottenham struggling to find a way through.

18
Defoe scuffs a tame effort wide from 20 yards as the game fluctuates from end to end.

17
Jackson drags a cross-cum-shot wide of goal but in front of Holt on the far side after creating space for himself with a run past Vertonghen.

16
Bale gets the chance to stretch his legs for the first time down the left wing before delivering a cross that flicks off the head of Barnett for a Tottenham corner.

15
Sandro gives away a free-kick in the centre circle following another foul, and Norwich do look a threat from set-pieces.

13
Tottenham enjoy a spell of possession in midfield and defence as they build up patiently and wait for an opening to present itself.

12
While Tottenham are looking sharp, Norwich will be happy with the way they are playing themselves, as Jackson is flagged offside.

10
Sigurdsson combines nicely with Defoe before sending over a fabulous cross from the right wing that just evades Bale in the centre.

9
Norwich win a free-kick in a dangerous area and Martin heads against the crossbar before Tottenham scramble the ball clear.

7
The game has started at a fast tempo and Tottenham are looking lively, with Vertonghen demonstrating great passing ability from the back.

6
Johnson shows nimble footwork to escape from a couple of challenges in midfield but Sandro dispossesses him with a strong tackle and sets Tottenham up for a counter-attack.

4
Sigurdsson curls a decent effort narrowly off target from 20 yards after a fast break from Lennon, who signed a new deal at Tottenham earlier today.

3
Some sloppy play by Sandro sees the ball break towards Snodgrass in the Tottenham area, but Vertonghen comes across to clear in no-nonsense style.

2
Norwich are looking to press their opponents at the earliest possible opportunity as they try to stop Tottenham settling.

1
There is a warm embrace between Villas-Boas and Hughton before kick-off, and a good atmosphere around the ground as Norwich get us started.

Dempsey and Lloris were not signed in time for today's game so Friedel, in particular, will be determined to impress today and prove to Villas-Boas that he deserves to remain No.1.

If Dembele is going to grab a debut goal he will have to do it off the bench after being named among the Tottenham substitutes, along with Adebayor. Norwich have kept faith with the same side that draw with QPR, meaning Bassong lines up against his former club.

Joshua says: "I'm expecting Bale and Defoe to work well but Grant Holt might take a draw for Norwich."

Gabriel is the first to get in touch, saying: "Despite a couple of disappointing opening games and a busy transfer deadline day for AVB's new side you've got to fancy Spurs to have enough to win this one. Think Tottenham fans would have preferred to see Moutinho at Spurs than Dempsey, I dont think he's a quality enough player to replace Modric, especially as he's aging but Lloris is quite a good signing I think. I admire Hughton for his job at Blues and want him to keep Norwich up but Spurs will probably win this. I'll go 2-0."

Tottenham: Friedel, Walker, Gallas, Vertonghen, Assou-Ekotto, Livermore, Sandro, Lennon, Sigurdsson, Bale, Defoe. Subs: Cudicini, Huddlestone, Adebayor, Naughton, Dembele, Townsend, Caulker.

Norwich: Ruddy, Russell Martin, Bassong, Barnett, Garrido, Johnson, Howson, Snodgrass, Pilkington, Holt, Jackson. Subs: Rudd, Turner, Surman, Hoolahan, Morison, Tierney, Tettey.
