As a United fan, can I ask Sir Alex to give Nani to Hartlepool? I have never seen him have a good game for us, this game is no different. United look weak all over the park, especially the midfield, they have no control in the match. Very poor 1st half. shep

I predict a 4-0 win for Man utd Scholes (1) Rvp (2) and Buttner (1) from Hardy :) Hardeev Badhen

Landmark day for former England midfielder Paul Scholes, his 700th appearance for the 19-time English champions.

As a United fan I think this will be a harder game than some may think, but I think we may clinch a 2-1 victory today. I'd also like to see Nick Powell come on as a substitute to see what he can bring to today's game, would be interesting to see what he can bring to the field! Josh Scott

I predict a 3-1 utd win. Brenda from Ghana.

I've got nothing but admiration for the job Martinez has done at Wigan, and I think all three of the title chasing teams- United, City and Chelsea- are involved in potential banana skin games. Man United's defence has looked a shaky of late and Wigan will go to Old Trafford with no fear the way Martinez sets his team out to attack the big teams. I've actually got a feeling Wigan might get an early goal which would make Old Trafford a bit edgy, and with Rooney and van Persie having fitness problems, you never know how things might pan out. To be controversial, I'll say Wigan can nick a point, 1-1! Gabriel Sutton

Meanwhile, Jean Beausejour (hamstring) and James McArthur (back) are passed fit and take their spot in the starting XI for the Latics. However, Antolin Alcaraz is not so lucky and misses out altogether due to injury.

Van Persie and Shinji Kagawa are both on the bench for United, along with former Latics loanee Tom Cleverley and summer signing Nick Powell, as a precautionary measure after the duo returned from international duty with respective thigh and back niggles. Javier Hernandez and Danny Welbeck are paired together in attack, with full-back Alexander Buttner will make his debut. Anders Lindegaard will also start in goal ahead of David de Gea.

Wigan are rated at 12/1 to beat Man United today according to our friends at Sky Bet, while it is 5/1 for the match to end in a draw. Van Persie is 9/4 to score first and 6/1 to secure a hat-trick. Also, the Red Devils are 15/8 to reclaim the Premier League title.

Meanwhile, Latics manager Roberto Martinez has thus far seen his side lose just once this season - to Chelsea, with their only victory a 2-0 win over the Saints.

United, in fifth spot, will be looking to gain momentum to what has been an indifferent start to their campaign. Sir Alex Ferguson's side made hard work of their last top-flight encounter, the 3-2 win away at Southampton secured thanks to Robin van Persie's late brace.

Good afternoon, I'm Devin Hermanus and I'll be taking you through all the action as Manchester United host Wigan at Old Trafford. Kick-off is scheduled for 1500 BST.
