El Alagui: Pushing for return

Richard Hughes is Bournemouth's only injury doubt.

Hughes has stepped up his efforts to return to fitness over the past week but the match against the Bees is expected to come too soon for the midfielder.

Manager Paul Groves could instead chose to hand starts to the midfield pairing of Marc Pugh and Charlie Daniels after both impressed as second half substitutes in the draw with Hartlepool on Saturday.

That result was the Cherries' third consecutive 1-1 draw at Dean Court and Groves will be keen to buck the trend against Brentford.

Charlie Sheringham (foot), Frank Demouge (knee), Stephen Purches (broken leg) and goalkeeper Darryl Flahavan all remain sidelined, while deadline day signing Lorenzo Davids may make the substitutes' bench.

Sam Saunders and Farid El Alagui are pushing to return to the Brentford line-up.

Winger Saunders was replaced by Harry Forrester in the starting XI last Thursday while striker El Alagui lost his place to Paul Hayes as the Bees lost 1-0 at Leyton Orient.

Midfielder Adam Forshaw came off midway through the second half at Brisbane Road, with the club continuing to manage his abdominal problem, which meant Norwich loanee Tom Adeyemi came on for his second substitute appearance.

Forshaw will be checked over ahead of kick-off and should he be declared fit, boss Uwe Rosler will have a full squad to choose from once again.
