Paynter: Should return to Rovers squad

Sheffield United striker Chris Porter is back in contention for the derby clash following a knee injury.

Porter has been sidelined since sustaining the knock in the Capital One Cup game with Burton on August 11, but recently returned to full training and will be included in the squad.

Midfielder Michael Doyle and winger Ryan Flynn sit out the second games of their respective three-game bans, but manager Danny Wilson has no other new injury or suspension worries.

Latest loan signing Paul Gallagher is set to continue after making his debut in the weekend draw with Bury, while another recent forward arrival, Dave Kitson, is hoping to feature after making his first appearance for the Blades when stepping off the substitutes' bench on Saturday.

Billy Paynter should return to the Doncaster squad for the south Yorkshire derby against Sheffield United.

Paynter missed the 2-1 win at Colchester with a thigh strain but is expected to come back into the reckoning and boost manager Dean Saunders' striking options.

Saunders has problems at the other end of the pitch, however, after goalkeeper Neil Sullivan was injured in the pre-match warm up at the weekend.

Sullivan will miss out on Tuesday night, leaving Gary Woods as the only recognised stopper in the squad.

Saunders is trying to get another keeper in on loan in time for the Blades clash.

Should that search prove futile, though, another option would be to recall youngster Jonathan Maxted from his loan spell with non-league club Goole AFC.
