Healy: Doubtful for Dons clash

Healy: Doubtful for Dons clash

David Healy remains an injury doubt as Bury search for their first win of the season against MK Dons.

Northern Ireland international Healy marked his Shakers debut with a goal from the penalty spot against Coventry last month but has since been sidelined due to a thigh problem.

Healy is presently rated as "50-50" to face the Dons when bottom-of-the-table Bury look to build on a tally of three points from seven League One games.

Veteran centre-back Efe Sodje made the starting line-up in Tuesday night's 3-0 defeat to leaders Tranmere and suffered no reaction to the tight groin that saw him substituted at Sheffield United last weekend.

Influential winger David Worrall has not featured since suffering an ankle injury at Preston a fortnight ago and is unavailable.

Ryan Lowe will be keen to regain his place in the MK Dons starting line-up.

Lowe had started all six of the Dons' League One matches this season before being dropped to the bench for the home game against Notts County in midweek, with Charlie MacDonald preferred in attack.

With a fully-fit squad to choose from, striker Lowe - at Bury between 2009 and 2011 - is one of a handful of options for manager Dons boss Karl Robinson.

Robinson admitted he made a mistake in his team selection after the Dons drew 1-1 with County on Tuesday night. During pre-season Robinson said he wanted Stephen Gleeson, Darren Potter and Shaun Williams - who spent most of the last campaign at centre-half - to play in the middle of midfield together. But in practice against the Magpies it did not work as the Dons dropped their first points of the season at stadium:mk.

"Maybe I got it wrong in the first half, but we made changes and the boys got me out of trouble," said Robinson.

James O'Shea came on and scored the equaliser against County. He along with fellow midfielders Jimmy Bullard and Alan Smith and forwards Dean Bowditch and Lowe are options for Robinson should he wish to make changes to his starting XI.
