Liverpool really were impressive today, though it is difficult to tell how much of that was down to the generosity of their hosts. Thanks for joining me today and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
Suarez takes the matchball and the acclaim of the travelling support, while Hughton disappears down the tunnel with a face like thunder.
NORWICH 2 LIVERPOOL 5
Norwich are finishing the game on the attack, but it appears to be a token effort.
Four minutes of added time to be played.
Holt gets his first of the season, curling into the far corner after Skrtel missed a harmless-looking forward pass. Extremely slack from the Liverpool defender.
86 HOLT SCORES FOR NORWICH - 5-2!
Carlo Tomaselli is thoroughly enjoying this Liverpool performance, but rightly wants our scoreline updated at the top of the page. Apologies folks, there is clearly a gremlin at work - perhaps a Norwich-supporting gremlin. Liverpool definitely lead 5-1!
The flurry of changes appear to have taken the sting out of the game. Rodgers looks relaxed on the Liverpool bench and has already put away his notebook as we enter the final 10 minutes.
77 With his side 5-1 down, Tettey comes on for his Premier League debut, replacing Norwich goalscorer Morison.
72 After Suarez poked another opportunity wide of the target, Liverpool throw on Carragher, as Johnson makes way for a breather.
With 20 minutes still to play, Liverpool could make the scoreline even more painful for the hosts. Norwich have now conceded five goals in a match on two occasions already this season. The away fans are now cheering every pass after singing: "There's only one Brendan Rodgers."
Easy for Liverpool as Gerrard feeds Sterling on the right. Sterling returns the favour for Gerrard to shoot from the edge of the box, with a heavy deflection off Barnett beating Ruddy. 5-1 to the Reds.
67 GOAL FOR GERRARD!
65 Liverpool also replace Sahin with Henderson. A goal to add to his Capital One Cup brace in midweek represents a very productive afternoon's work for the Turkish midfielder.
61 Just prior to the Norwich goal, Assaidi came off the Liverpool bench to replace Suso, who did his reputation no harm with a very tidy hour on the right.
Reina is at fault as the Liverpool goalkeeper fails to grasp Martin's drive. Morison pounces on the rebound and lashes the ball into the net. Reina is furious.
60 MORISON PULLS A GOAL BACK FOR NORWICH!
Liverpool feed Suarez on the left of the box and, with Martin failing to close him down, the Reds hitman curls an effort around Ruddy. That's six goals in less than two games for Suarez at Carrow Road.
HAT-TRICK FOR LUIS SUAREZ!
Norwich make their second change on 54 minutes: Hoolahan comes on for Surman, seemingly to the delight of the home support.
Norwich miss another golden opportunity! A spell of pinball in the box after Liverpool fail to clear a corner results in the ball falling to Surman, but he nudges wide of the target as defenders throw themselves in front of the Canaries midfielder.
After Snodgrass somehow diverts the ball over the Liverpool bar from no more than a yard out, Liverpool break and Suarez gets in down the left. His first pull-back is presented back to the Liverpool striker, who then calmly rolls the ball across for Sahin to sidefoot home. Should have been 2-1, but it's now 3-0.
47 GOAL FOR SAHIN!
46 Norwich do make a half-time change: Holt is on for Jackson.
@Jordan_TGBG is happy with what he's seen: "Nice to see Liverpool playing good football, and actually getting goals at the end of it, for once!". @UKPantside is also pretty chuffed: "Suarez is on fire and looking like the man we all have grown to love! FT score 4-0!"
It takes a man to admit when he's wrong, which is exactly what Gabriel Sutton was: "Well, my pre-match prophecy about Norwich starting well and Hughton getting his team psyched up went to pot inside the first two minutes so I can't speak with that much authority now!" To be fair to you, Gabriel, I'm not sure anyone predicted the start we got.
Suarez was certainly the central figure in a strong 45 minutes for Liverpool. Two fine goals; a penalty appeal wrongly rejected; and some fine link up play with those around him. Norwich look suspect at the back and predictable going forward. Changes from Hughton at half-time? Liverpool fans - happy with that?
Liverpool close the first-half on the attack, but Sterling's cross drifts harmlessly behind the Norwich goal. A few boos from the home support when the whistle goals. Perhaps understandable, given Liverpool have bossed the game from the first whistle.
Norwich win a corner from Wisdom when the Liverpool youngster recovers to win a tackle in the box after Gerrard gave the ball away, but the defence deals with it comfortably.
Liverpool keeper Reina is called into action as he backpedals to claw Martin's high cross away from the far post, but Liverpool pick up the rebound and clear.
39 Norwich's Barnett goes in the book for a wild challenge on Suarez. Eventually four minutes for Suarez: Injured, missed a sitter scores a stunner, then draws a booking for Barnett.
Seconds after missing a one-on-one opportunity, Suarez robs Turner and nutmegs the defender before curling home a sublime shot with the outside of his right foot. Wonderful goal.
37 SUAREZ SCORES LIVERPOOL'S SECOND!
Suarez goes down after taking a blow to the head, but is quickly back on his feet and immediately fouls Martin, approximately two seconds after returning to the field!
Great saves at either end! First of all, Ruddy parries Gerrard's header after a delicious reverse pass from Suarez, before Reina adjusts brilliantly to touch away Johnson's shot which Jackson deflected to the Liverpool goalkeeper's right. Turns out Jackson was offside, but Reina obviously was not aware of that.
More Liverpool possesion results in a corner won by Johnson but his Norwich namesake heads away the delivery from the near post.
The Liverpool fans sing: "We're gonna have a party, when Suarez gets a pen." Having seen a replay, he certainly should have had one six minutes ago when Barnett bundled him over.
Great chance for Norwich, which Jackson wastes! Garrido's high cross is nodded back by Morison to Jackson, but the Norwich striker blasts his left-footed volley high and wide from close to the penalty spot.
Suarez goes down in the box after getting in behind Barnett, but ref Mike Jones waves away claims for a penalty. Suarez appeared to have a strong case; Barnett was certainly clumsy in challenging from behind.
Suso and Suarez combine well on the right, with the goalscorer floating a cross towards the far post but Sterling's header back into the danger area is cleared by the City defence. At the other end, Reina springs out of his box to clear a long ball, but slices a clearance towards the corner flag. Johnson collects and Liverpool regain their shape.
Gerrard concedes a free-kick just inside the Liverpool half, but Johnson floats a delivery beyond everyone and straight out for a goal kick. Very poor, and Johnson knows it, judging from his scream of frustration.
Howson shoots from 25 yards but Skrtel gets out to block. Liverpool's defence appears to have settled now, and Rodgers' side are passing the ball well when they have it.
After a frantic start, both sides withdraw into their own halves and take a moment to get a feel of the ball. After an awful start, Norwich look to have woken up, but they still trail.
Norwich hit the post! On their first attack, a shot from Garrido reaches Jackson at the far post, but Reina drops to his knees to divert the sidefooted shot onto the post. Both defences in disarray.
Barnett is almost dispossed in his own box by Suarez after Suso's pass from the right in behind the Norwich defence. The City defender recovers and clears.
Liverpool go close to doubling their lead, with barely 180 seconds played. Sahin's free-kick from the right found Agger, but the centre-half headed over after losing his marker. Norwich look shell-shocked!
What a start for Liverpool! Johnson cut inside from the left before feeding a pass into the box, which was partially cleared. Suarez pounced on the loose ball before taking a touch and shooting low into the bottom corner from the 18-yard line.
1 LUIS SUAREZ SCORES FOR LIVERPOOL
Liverpool get us underway...
The players gather around the centre circle to remember former Norwich boss John Bond, who passed away during the week. The Liverpool players may also pause to remember Bill Shankly, who died on this day 31 years ago.
The sun is out at Carrow Road, as a full house welcomes the two teams - Norwich in bright yellow; Liverpool a fetching shade of purple.
Neither @paullarry or @paulLfc23 seem particularly frustrated by Liverpool's poor start to the season, with the former predicting a 3-1 win, with Suarez bagging a brace. The Uruguayan certainly has form in East Anglia...
With neither side having yet found goalscoring form, perhaps today's clash might be settled by a single goal? Our friends at Sky Bet are offering 11/1 for Norwich to win 1-0, while Liverpool are 6/1 to triumph by the same scoreline.
Both teams have problems scoring goals, which probably goes a long way to explaining why neither side has a Premier League win between them so far this season. Norwich have drawn both of their home games, while Liverpool have claimed a solitary point from their games on the road - a 3-0 defeat at West Brom and a 1-1 draw Sunderland.
Carlo Tomaselli is watching on from Colorado Springs, USA, and is hoping for a Liverpool win, but Gabriel Sutton fancies Norwich to get their first victory and leave the Reds winless: "As a Birmingham fan, I know Hughton is a great motivator and will get his team ready for this, they could nick an early goal - 1-0 to the Canaries!"
Sophie Isaac has been in touch, but I can't tell if she's feeling confident or pessimistic: "Really hope Liverpool have their first win today but they never win against Norwich so they probably will struggle, although I hope the score will be 2-1 to Liverpool with Suso and Sahin scoring on their first start." Have you forgotten Luis Suarez's hat-trick at Carrow Road last season, Sophie?
Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers hands Premier League debuts to Suso and Andre Wisdom, while Chris Hughton makes two changes to the Norwich team that lost at Newcastle last week: Michael Turner and Simeon Jackson replace Sebastien Bassong and Wes Hoolahan.
The two benches: Norwich: Bunn, Holt, Hoolahan, E. Bennett, Tierney, R. Bennett, Tettey. Liverpool: Jones, Carragher, Henderson, Downing, Assaidi, Coates, Borini.
Liverpool team: Reina, Johnson, Wisdom, Skrtel, Agger, Sahin, Allen, Gerrard, Sterling, Suso, Suarez.
Norwich team: Ruddy, R Martin, Barnett, Turner, Garrido, Johnson, Howson, Snodgrass, Surman, Morison, Jackson.
Good afternoon everybody and welcome to Carrow Road for the Premier League clash between Norwich and Liverpool. I'll fill you in with the teams shortly, and if you'd like to drop me a message today you can send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org or reach me on Twitter @ianwatson1.
