Winnall: Ruled out for Shrews

Doncaster will be without skipper Rob Jones for the visit of the Shrews.

Jones received his fifth yellow card of the season during the 3-1 home defeat to Preston on Tuesday night and must serve a one-match suspension.

"I'm disappointed that Rob will miss the next game because it is going to be a tough one," said Rovers boss Dean Saunders, who is likely to call on Shelton Martis to replace Jones at centre-half.

"In an ideal world, if he had been booked on Saturday then he would have missed the Chesterfield game in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy which might have helped us a bit more."

Midfielder James Harper is hopeful of returning to the squad after missing out in midweek through illness.

On-loan striker Iain Hume is set to be restored to the starting line up after being ineligible against his parent club Preston.

Saturday's game will be the first meeting between the two sides since the ill-fated campaign of 1997/98 which saw Doncaster relegated from the Football League.

Shrewsbury will be forced to make a change in attack after Sam Winnall was ruled out for around two weeks.

The on-loan Wolves striker was making only his second appearance for Town in Tuesday night's goalless draw at Brentford when he was forced off after just 16 minutes nursing a minor hamstring tear.

That is likely to mean a recall for Terry Gornell, or a surprise start for Ryan Doble, alongside Marvin Morgan.

Town could count themselves unlucky not to come away from Griffin Park with all three points in midweek having initially been awarded a penalty for what appeared to be a clear-cut handball, before the referee reversed the call having spoken to his assistant.

Shrews' positive performance is likely to see changes kept to a minimum by manager Graham Turner, who remains without left-back Joe Jacobson (ankle).
