Lowe: Doubtful for Dons

Ryan Lowe is a doubt for MK Dons.

Summer signing Lowe missed training on Thursday due to illness and will be assessed ahead of the match.

The striker has lost his place in the starting line-up recently, having to make do with a substitute's role in the last five league and cup matches.

Gary MacKenzie has resumed light training after missing the last four games with a groin injury but this fixture will come too soon for the Scottish centre-half.

Defenders Mathias Doumbe and Adam Chicksen and midfielders Alan Smith, James O'Shea and Scott Allan, on loan from West Brom and awaiting his first start for the Dons, are options for manager Karl Robinson should he wish to make any changes to his team.

Portsmouth will be without Darel Russell.

Russell missed Tuesday's 2-1 win at Yeovil with a hamstring problem and is set to be out for another couple of weeks, so Johnny Ertl keeps his place in midfield.

Akos Buzsaky could make his debut following his recent move to the south coast although the Hungarian midfielder, an unused substitute in midweek, is likely to start on the bench again.

Defenders Josh Thompson, Ashley Westwood (both ankle) and Alex Grant (knee) and striker Luke Rodgers (thigh) are still on the sidelines.

Centre-half Gabor Gyepes, who scored his second goal in two matches on Tuesday, has been carrying an ankle knock but is expected to be available as Pompey look for a third straight win.
