Edgar Davids is poised to return to the Barnet starting line-up for the visit of the Gulls.

The Bees' joint-head coach dropped himself to the bench for Saturday's FA Cup meeting with Oxford, although he came on for the final 20 minutes as his side crashed to a 2-0 defeat.

Fellow midfielder John Oster will be checked over after missing out at the weekend with an ankle problem while goalkeeper Graham Stack, defender Krystian Pearce and striker Jake Hyde could also return after resting various knocks.

But forward Ricky Holmes is unlikely to be available after suffering a setback in his recovery from an ankle injury in training last week, meaning fit-again Collins John (thigh) keeps his place.

Curtis Weston (thigh), Ishmail Kamara (shoulder) and Steve Kabba (knee) remain on the sidelines.

Torquay have no new injury concerns as they look to bounce back from their FA Cup defeat to Harrogate Town on Saturday.

The Gulls' unbeaten home record went up in smoke as the Blue Square Bet North side pulled off a shock 1-0 victory at Plainmoor, a performance described by manager Martin Ling as "not good enough."

Ling's side travel to Underhill to face rock-bottom Barnet looking to improve an away record that has seen them pick up just one league victory on the road.

Kirtys MacKenzie's place in the squad on Saturday was taken by Ashley Yeoman and it remains to be seen if MacKenzie will overcome his bug.

Ian Morris and Lloyd Macklin remain Torquay's two long-term injury absentees while striker Rene Howe is one game away from a one-match suspension after totting up four yellow cards.
