FT: Reading 2 Everton 1

And that's it!! What a turn around!! Adam Le Fondre's second-half double cancels out a Steven Naismith opener. Stay with us for the report, reaction and player ratings. Thanks for all your comments!

Morrison completes a last ditch tackle to stop an advancing Fellaini. Superb stuff.

The crowd is doing a Mexican wave... of biting their nails in these dying moments. Whistles echoing around the stadium, can't be long now?!

McAnuff does well to challenge Baines and win his side a much-needed goalkick. Never say die attitude is being rewarded so far. Fair credit to the Royals.

Stoppage time, Vellios connects with Baines' corner but his header is tame and wayward.

Everton haven't really troubled the hosts this half, barring that Fellaini header which hit the post.

Nervy moments for Reading who are just minutes away from their first maximum haul.

It's getting very sloppy now as Noel Hunt goes into the book, seems like it's more for dissent - or his dodgy Movember 'tasche maybe?!

Gunter clears a Baines delivery. Reading are all pretty much all behind the ball at the moment except Roberts. True grit and luck has got them to this position. Priceless three points at stake

Pienaar rides his luck and his loose pass comes back to him as he sets Fellaini off on a run and Oviedo gets his first real touches on the ball down the left.

Roberts has put in a shift today. He's tiring now and strays offside following a decent position. Can't fault his effort though, workhorse!

It's all to play for now - the next goal is extremely crucial. Who will it go to? Remember to tweet @HayleyP_11

Roberts is whiskers away from making it 3-1 with a glancing header but it flies wide.

Reading's Madejski Stadium has woken up now! They're loving this!

Vellios comes on for Hitzlsperger. What a turn around, a score you would have never envisaged following the first half, Moyes must be going mad!

Noel Hunt comes on for two goal hero Adam Le Fondre.

Off the post!!! Fellaini heads down a corner and it cannons back off the post, Reading have rode their luck so many times today!

Oviedo comes on in place of Naismith for Everton in response to that hammer blow.

GOAL LE FONDRE!!! Adam Le Fondre keeps a cool head and drills the ball down the middle as Howard dives to his left. Great composure! 2-1 Reading!!

Le Fondre goes down under a Coleman push as he tries to control the ball in the air and it's a pen!

Baines wins a freekick for obstruction from Robson-Kanu. That has been a cracking battle this game. Superb stuff.

Gunter lofts in a delivery towards Roberts but his first touch is poor and Everton pounce to clear.

Leigertwood asks too much of Le Fondre on the attack, the striker has been fantastic this half.

Osman stumbles over a searching Pienaar ball, the midfielder tries to lay it off to Naismith but he's off balance and Federici sneaks in to snatch it away from the Scotsman.

Coleman rescues Everton to take the ball from Le Fondre's feet who was nearly one-on-one with Howard. Great piece of defending.

Baines is pulled up for taking it outside the quadrant. Gorkss heads away the resulting kick.

Baines delivers a poor one but luckily for him it comes back towards him and out of play for another corner.

Baines wins his side a corner from a McAnuff deflection. Could this be the chance?

Roberts sneaks in a cross on the turn but Naismith is back defending and clears from the area.

Fellaini doesn't look like he's hurt at all! But thankfully Morrison is back on his feet and leaves the play momentarily. He's back on now.

Morrison absolutely launches himself at the ball like his life depends on it, he goes down awkwardly as Fellaini challenges and the pair clash heads. The play is stopped as Morrison receives treatment.

Coleman's not happy with Roberts who felt he was pushed initially but the freekick goes Reading's way. Strange decision for me that one.

Fellaini barges his way into the box but his aggression is penalised by Atkinson and the Belgian gives away a freekick.

Pienaar drills a probing pass towards Jelavic and wins his side a corner.

Hitzlsperger should have hit the target there as it falls on to his favoured left foot - he has to adjust to connect with the volley across goal but drags his effort five yards wide.

Been really impressed with ALF this second-half, he's such a dangerous player, always on the move and breathing down the neck of the last man. Great performance so far.

Le Fondre sees nothing on as he picks up the ball on the edge and decides to go for the curler - just wide of Howard's left hand stick but he had the American scrambling across his goal.

This game has completely opened up now, great frantic start. Really competitive.

Great opportunity for Le Fondre, he's on his weaker left foot and can't quite beat Howard on the counter. Great movement to get on to Roberts' ball but he should've done better with his first-time strike.

Hitzlsperger's urged to shoot by the crowd from about 30 yards out, Reading learn this time and block the German's scorching effort. That's got to hurt...!

They were queuing up there for Everton, Pienaar lays it off to Hitzlsperger, nice weighted pass, but the German's cross-cum-shot is blocked. Good chance, wasted.

Morrison times his challenge perfectly, real clean tackle from the 21-year-old to nick the ball off Jelavic and floor the Bosnian in the same breath.

The visitors are having a lot to think about with these setpieces, I think Shorey has delivered just one bad ball all day - his crosses have been superb so far.

It's whipped in by Shorey down the left, Le Fondre gets on the end of it again - outjumping Heitinga - but sees his header fly wide. Great tenacity from the hosts.

Jagielka gets a telling off from Atkinson as he stabs at Robson-Kanu who uses a great piece of skill to get past the defender and win a freekick.

A Hitzlsperger corner is flicked on by Jagielka at the near post but the effort lofts over the bar.

Coleman tricks his way to the right byline and wins a corner. Good strong play from the fullback.

Reading have burst into life now, superb determination. Massive spring in their step and much more belief from that equaliser.

Great ball towards McAnnuff down the right, Baines gets back well but the winger wins back possession and also a freekick right on the edge of the area down the flank. Superb piece of attacking.

First goal in 10 games for Le Fondre and what a peach it was!

Well, well, well - Everton must be so annoyed to not have converted a host of cracking chances they've made for themselves. Very frustrating for Moyes to watch, the home crowd don't care though - their team are level against the run of play.

GOAL LE FONDRE!!! Terrific ball in from Nicky Shorey, Le Fondre gets in front of Coleman and leaps to direct a header into the top corner. Game on!!!

Baines loses out and Le Fondre capitalises down the right, but there's nothing opening up for the striker and Everton nick back possession.

Leigertwood tries to head Shorey's corner back towards goal, it's a difficult chance and one in which the 30-year-old places over.

Osman blocks a Tabb half volley on the edge of the area, celebrating his 97th appearance today the midfielder.

Naismith is pulled up for a high foot on Jay Tabb - the Royals midfielder needs to get on the ball more for me.

Shorey swings in another danger ball, Everton clear but it falls to McAnuff who checks on to his right and whips in another delivery, another defensive clearance.

The Dutchman's in some pain so has left the field.

Roberts on the charge, wins a corner. Great power from the big man. Heitinga goes down after getting his heel clipped from the 34-year-old.

Everton get the second-half underway

That's it for the half. Steven Naismith poked home the opener following some catastrophic Reading defending. However, Everton may feel they could've been three up after Naismith was brought down in the box by Kaspars Gorkss and then later Sean Morrison handled a Nikica Jelavic volley. Reading enjoyed a little spell of possession towards the end of the half, their best chance falling to Le Fondre who glanced his header wide. 1-0 Everton!

That's the last action of the half!

More encouraging for McDermott and the home fans, McAnuff went on a run down the right and drilled a cross into the near post - it's just slightly too close to the keeper and Howard collects.

Nothing comes of the resulting corner. Roberts is set off on a mazy run down the left, he manages somehow to get a cross into the path of Le Fondre but Howard leaps to grasp the ball in the air away from the 25-year-old striker.

Hitzlsperger is having a bit of joy at the moment and Everton were queuing up at the back as the German delivers. Cleared for the corner by Reading.

Leigertwood gets away from his marker at the far stick and tries to connect with an inswinging corner, but he gets his positioning all wrong and gets underneath the ball heading over. Good chance wasted.

Jagielka sees his header cleared off the line from Tabb following Baines' corner. Good defending!

These officials are having a right ol' 'mare at the moment it seems, missed two penalty claims so far. But McDermott's men are soldiering on despite the current onslaught.

On the replay - that's another penalty! His arm is up, contact is made. Another let-off for Reading - could this be their turning point?

If that's not a handball, that is an INCREDIBLE block by Morrison! Jelavic goes for a volley, Morrison gets in the way from point blank range. Corner.

Excellent Cruyff turn from Shorey to evade his marker in his left-back position. Superb piece of showboating which cheered the crowd up a little at least!

Robson-Kanu is having a bit of a go at the ref for an unpunished challenge in which he lost his boot. Nothing doing.

Well it was there to be hit from 20 yards on the bounce, but Roberts lashes at it and smashes his effort well over the bar.

Superb, superb save from Federici. Great starting position, he spreads himself to get something on the advancing Osman who tries the dink and it cannons off the keeper for a corner. Excellent pass from Naismith for the England international to latch on to.

The home side are a little sloppy on getting back into position when their attacks break down, Everton are picking out passes because they have so much space.

Reading invite Hitzlsperger to shoot - the German smashes a 25 yard effort on target, Federici parries it down into Jelavic's path who is pulled up for offside.

Robson-Kanu puts in a decent ball into the box from the left, they've been very productive down that flank but it again just evades the paths of Roberts and Le Fondre.

Morrison does expertly well to advancing from two challenges, he's off down the right asking for the return and I think then realises he's a centre-back so jogs back towards goal!

Baines fires in the out-swinging, the big Belgian Fellaini raises a leg far too high to connect and is pulled up for the attempt. Freekick to Reading inside the area.

Pienaar wins a corner from the resulting freekick after turning in the box and attempting to deliver to the far post. Good defensive block.

Coleman needs treatment after that challenge, he'll certainly feel that in the morning! Robust to say the least. Oh, and late, very, very late.

Easy yellow card for Atkinson to give to Gorkss. The Latvian slides in on the advancing Coleman who gets the first touch and brings the foul.

Gunter fails to bring the ball down properly, turns and plays it back to Federici who goes to smash it down field and instead spoons it out. Sums up Reading so far really.

Fellaini and Pienaar seem to be pulling all the strings at the moment, Naismith is enjoying himself. May be a long afternoon for the hosts...

Naismith gets goalside of Morrison as he drives in the box but he can't get enough power behind the ball whilst off-balance. Great pass by Pienaar to set the Scotsman on his way.

Tabb hooks away a searching ball into Reading's box. They're defending in numbers now, seem to be getting more of a footing on this tie.

Coleman gets a silly booking for booting the ball away after he couldn't quite get his foot around it to keep it in play. Pure frustration, yellow card.

Robson-Kanu drives to the byline and wins his side a corner. Could this be the equaliser, it comes to Morrison who can't quite capitalise and watches as the loose ball goes to McAnuff who scuffs an effort well wide.

Robson-Kanu sends in a delivery from the left but it's way over the head of Roberts. All looking slightly desperate in these early stages for the hosts. Eerie atmosphere around the stadium, waiting to be entertained but they're more frustrated than anything.

Roberts rags at the shirt of Baines who was on the counter, taking one for the team there as he goes into the book.

Great chance for Reading down their right, it's a very inviting ball by Shorey with an inswinging delivery. Howard works well to clear the danger though.

Everton are playing a little like the home side at the moment, looking very comfortable. Just as I say that... Baines gives away a freekick!

Pienaar drags his shot wide of Federici's right-hand post after picking the pocket of Gunter who hesitated on the ball. The South African will not be happy with that effort, should've tested the keeper.

Gunter fires in a searching ball for Roberts, it's a decent spell of possession for Reading at the moment. Everton keep clearing but the Royals are coming back at them.

Pienaar does well under pressure to shield the ball and see it out for a goalkick after a poor clearing header from Baines down Everton's left channel.

Following that slice of luck, can Reading use that to come back into this game? They need to get Robson-Kanu on the ball more I think.

Gorkss goes in with what looks like a rash challenge in the box on Naismith. He's a touch theatrical in the fall but it's a penalty for me. However, nothing given. Lucky break for Reading.

There needs to be a little bit of cohesion about this Reading defence if they are to get back into this tie so early on. Everton are just picking passes knowing how shaky the defence are.

Right on cue... @Mike_Gutteridge says "2-1 Reading, we've worked hard this season, today will be our day, can't see us keeping a clean sheet though!"

The Reading faithful are up in arms at the moment with some of the defending, there's just no communication as the defence stutters with another throughball leaving Federici to collect from the grasps of Naismith.

Reading are all over the place at the moment. Shorey takes a chance to duck under a throughball to his keeper but Naismith was breathing down his neck. Not the place to be taking chances at all.

Jelavic could have added to Everton's tally there but he fails to connect well with his strike.

And it's Howard making the catastrophic error this time as he goes to clear, misses the chance only for Le Fondre to collect and attempt a curling effort into the top corner - just over. Lucky Howard there indeed.

On the replay, there's so many errors in the run up to the goal, unbelievable at this level really. McDermott will be fuming.

GOAL NAISMITH!!! A catalogue of Reading errors sees Jelavic loft a ball into the six yard area, Fellaini applies the pressure and the ball falls nicely into the path of Naismith who prods home. Awful, awful defending.

The ball finds its way to Osman who takes a touch after a superb turn, shifts it on to his right and unleashes an effort from about 20 yards out, but the strike is down the throat of Federici.

Leigertwood goes in on Baines who goes down under the challenge for a freekick just inside the Royals' half.

Shorey's inswinging setpiece fails to beat the first man and Everton clear well.

Heitinga gives away a cheap freekick after going into the back of Le Fondre down the right.

It's pretty open in these early exchanges, both could've broken the deadlock. Should make for a great encounter.

Morrison's header is a decent one, Leigertwood does well to evade the attentions of Fellaini and sets off an attack for the Royals.

Shorey bends it in, it's met by Adam Le Fondre, he climbs well under pressure but glances his header wide. Decent effort.

Reading win a corner off Baines. Great chance for the hosts.

Jelavic must be kicking himself there after finding acres of space at the back post and opting for the spectacular rather than the laces.

That could've been 1-0 Everton if not for a great point blank save from Federici from a Jagielka prod towards goal. The ball is lofted in again at the far post, and Jelavic tries an acrobatic scissorkick unmarked, blazing over.

Shorey gifts a corner to Everton as he attempts to cut out a Heitinga long ball. Hitzlsperger to get his first chance on the ball with the set-piece.

Le Fondre gets Reading on the front foot straight away with a decent run down the left after latching on to a loose pass.

Reading get the game underway/

The teams are out. Game time!

Meanwhile David Moyes has handed midfielder Thomas Hitzlsperger his first Everton start in place of captain Phil Neville with Steven Naismith replacing Kevin Mirallas who misses out with a hamstring injury.

So, on the back of the team line-ups - here's a bit of blurb about the selections... Reading boss Brian McDermott has made two changes for the visit of Everton as he goes in search of the Royals' first Barclays Premier League win of the season. Hal Robson-Kanu and Adam Le Fondre have been introduced by McDermott with Garath McCleary and Noel Hunt both dropping to the bench.

Getting quite a bit of feedback on Twitter, not much love for the Royals though: "@Shaun180691 3-0 everton back to winning ways now coyb", "@jamie_lane91 3-1 everton" and "@astlebridge 3-1 Toffees". What do you Reading fans think? Keep tweeting @HayleyP_11. Thanks for all your comments so far!

The team news is in, stay tuned...

Fancy a flutter? Latests odds are: Reading 7/2, draw13/5, Everton 4/5.

>b>Match fact: Adam Federici and co might want to work on ways to stop one of the Toffees' main attacking threats as Leighton Baines has created 10 more goalscoring chances than any other player in the top five European Leagues this season so far - with 47.

Match fact: Unfortunately the Royals are without a win in 10 Premier League games this season and haven't won any of their last eight top-flight home games - drawing five and enduring three defeats. Could today be the perfect time for Brian McDermott's Reading to turn their fortunes around?

Match fact: As a neutral, it'd be nice to see goals, goals, goals, however if previous form is anything to go by the last three encounters between the two sides have been decided by a 1-0 scoreline.

Good afternoon and welcome to today's Premier League encounter between Reading and Everton. I'll be bringing you all the minute-by-minute action here, so tweet me @HayleyP_11. Match facts and team news to follow...
