Akpo Sodje: Could feature for North End

Anthony Elding could make his Preston debut.

Former Stockport striker Elding made the surprise move to Deepdale on Thursday, completing an emergency loan deal from Blue Square Bet Premier high-flyers Grimsby.

Also among the attacking options at Graham Westley's disposal is Akpo Sodje, who has extended his short-term contract at Deepdale until December.

Paul Huntington is ready to return to the heart of defence after serving a one-match suspension for last weekend's superb 4-1 win over Westley's former employers, Stevenage.

Injury has prevented fellow centre-back Shane Cansdell-Sherriff from featuring since the win over Yeovil in the first round of the FA Cup and he is set to miss out once more.

Left-back David Buchanan is pushing to be involved once more having made his comeback from a knee problem as a late substitute last weekend.

Injury-hit Brentford have added Wigan defender Rob Kiernan to their squad.

The Republic of Ireland Under-21 defender on Thursday agreed a loan switch with the Bees until January 2.

Manager Uwe Rosler moved for the 21-year-old after losing a host of players to injuries.

Long-serving midfielder Kevin O'Connor is likely to miss the rest of the season with an ankle injury which required surgery, and striker Farid El Alagui has a long-term knee problem.

Defender Leon Legge is out with groin trouble, midfielder Tom Adeyemi has a hamstring injury and on-loan striker Jimmy Spencer has gone back to Huddersfield for treatment on a hip problem.

Development squad players Antonio German, Aaron Pierre and Emmanuel Oyeleke could be on the bench again.
