David Prutton: Suspended for Iron

Scunthorpe will be without suspended midfielders David Prutton and Josh Walker in manager Brian Laws' first home league game in six years.

Prutton sits out the second game of a three-match ban following his recent dismissal at Walsall, while Walker misses out after reaching five yellow cards.

Laws, who recently returned for a third spell in charge at Glanford Park, is still without key defender David Mirfin due to knee ligament damage sustained in the recent FA Cup defeat at Gillingham. The centre-half is expected to be sidelined for up to eight weeks.

Midfielder Damien Mozika is pushing for his first start of the season following his long-term ankle injury and defender Christian Ribeiro is expected to shake off the groin injury that forced him out of last week's win at Coventry.

The Iron have won their last two league games since Laws' return and could climb out of the bottom four with a third straight success.

Notts County manager Keith Curle is likely to have an unchanged squad to select from.

Julian Kelly and Carl Regan are making good progress with their recovery from hamstring and foot injuries respectively but both players remain doubts.

Fellow defenders Manny Smith (knee) and Jordan Stewart (hamstring) and goalkeeper Fabian Spiess (knee) remain unavailable, with Smith a long-term absentee.

Notts travel to Glanford Park on Saturday looking to stretch their club-record run of away league matches without defeat to 18 games.

Curle told the club's official website: "It's going to be a difficult game, they're on a run of form under a new manager. It's always a difficult place to go and play but we've had a little bit of success there recently."

The Magpies won 2-1 at Scunthorpe in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy at the start of September.
