FT: QPR 1 Aston Villa 1

Thanks for all your comments today folks! Don't forget, you can always follow me on Twitter: @RazMirza to send me your views so speak to you all soon!

FULL-TIME: QPR fail to take all three points on Harry Redknapp's first home game in charge and they remain rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table. Villa took the lead thanks to Brett Holman's piledriver, but Jamie Mackie restored parity to rescue a point with a deft header. Shaun Wright-Phillips struck the post while Stephane Mbia was stretchered off with a nasty looking neck injury.

90+4
Shaun Wright-Phillips is hobbling as Villa win a free-kick, but it comes to nothing.

90+3
There's a lack of urgency from QPR now as Villa win the ball back through Delph.

90+2
Harry Redknapp is unbeaten in his last 12 games against Aston Villa and he has also never lost a Premier League home debut as a manager.

90+1
Jose Bosingwa makes an important challenge to deny Benteke a certain shot on goal.

90
FOUR added minutes of stoppage time at Loftus Road.

89
CLOSE!! Agbonlahor picks out Karim El Ahmadi on the edge of the box and his volley seemed to be palmed wide by Green, but Webb points for a goal kick.

88
Fabian Delph does the same for Villa though, although they can now break.

87
Eric Lichaj runs into trouble but then Bosingwa gives the ball to El Ahmadi.

86
Hoilett tries to take the ball around Ciaran Clark, but the defender stands firm to win his side a goal kick.

85
Hoilett finds Bosingwa and now the former whips in a wonderful cross, but Guzan is alert and collects the bouncing ball.

84
Junior Hoilett is caught offside after a late pass from Junior Hoilett, although replays show that he was actually just on.

83
The whistles get louder until QPR finally win the ball back, but Villa soon win it back.

82
Villa interrupt the QPR rhythm as they keep possession of the ball and the crowd are not happy.

81
SO CLOSE! Brad Guzan is caught no no man's land as he hands the ball onto the crossbar from Taarabt's header.

80
Shaun Wright-Phillips wins his side another corner after Derrick Williams' touch.

79
Villa end up giving the ball away after QPR work hard to close them down.

Dave from Leeds says: "Looks like come the New Year Mr Bent will be leaving us....this was Lambert's chance to prove that DB has a future at AVFC...not any more!"

77
QPR win a third corner in a row, but the contact is minimal in the box and Guzan collects.

Jeff Watts says: "I will put money on Robbie Keane coming to Villa in January to add insult to injury to Darren Bent..."

75
Harry Redkanpp is urging his side to go forward in this final quarter as Shaun Wright-Phillips wins his side a corner.

74
Villa have the ball now and Gabby Agbonlahor finds Derrick Williams who slides in after losing the ball.

73
Junior Hoilett just about keeps the ball in play, but Jamie Mackie gives the ball away.

72
All those changes have taken the sting out the game, which will suite Villa after Rangers' good start to the second half.

71
So we won't be seeing Darren Bent this afternoon and the striker looks a disconsolate figure on the bench.

70
SUBSTITUTION: After about five minutes of changes here, Paul Lambert makes his final change as goalscorer Brett Holman is replaced by Karim El Ahmadi.

69
SUBSTITUTION: Striker Junior Hoilett replaces the injured Samba Diakite for QPR.

68
SUBSTITUTION: Fabian Delph is also on for Barry Bannan.

67
SUBSTITUTION: 19-year-old Derrick Williams comes on to replace Chris Herd.

66
Samba Diakite is down on the ground and in need of some attention.

65
I'm pretty sure the reason for all these bookings is the slippery conditions at Loftus Road. A spate of yellow cards!

64
YELLOW CARD: Matthew Lowton is quickly booked for sliding into Jamie Mackie.

63
YELLOW CARD: Clint Hill is booked by Howard Webb for dragging Benteke down.

62
Christian Benteke is all over Clint Hill and now Brad Guzan gets out of jail as he comes out of his area looking to clear the ball and gets caught. Luckily for Villa, QPR make a mess of the situation.

61
QPR came on stron at the start of this half and Villa socaked it all up. Now the visitors enjoy some possession.

59
FINE SAVE!! Adel Taarabt picks out substitute Ji-Sung Park with a wonderful pass and his left-foot drive is straight down the throat of Brad Guzan. Great chance!

58
The Hoops are dominating now as Jose Bosingwa's cross is cleared.

57
Only Swindon in 1993-94 (5 points, GD -22) have managed a worse record after 14 games in the Premier League than QPR this season.

56
All QPR here as Guzan holds onto Samba Diakite's daisy cutter from the edge of the box.

55
Guzan is called into action again as he pushes Ryan Nelsen's volley away.

54
CHANCE!! Shaun Wright-Phillips turns his marker before his deflected effort is palmed away by Brad Guzan for a corner.

52
Villa have a throw down in QPR territory and a poor throw allows the home side to get back on the ball until Diakite gives the ball away.

Mark Carr wants an away win: "Come villa we need these three points. Were not gonna go down!! UTV."

50
The ball is put into the mixer and Betenke is penalised after attempting a spectacular overhead kick.

49
The free-kick comes to nothing and now Villa win one of their own at the other end.

48
YELLOW CARD: Nathan Baker is booked for bringing down the pacy Shaun Wright-Phillips down the middle.

47
MBIA UPDATE: Stephane Mbia has been taken to hospital for precautionary scans following a nasty looking neck injury in the first half.

46
SUBSTITUTION: Ji-Sung Park comes on for Esteban Granero at the start of the second half.

AHendy Echo on Twitter says: "Sounds like Harry has worked his magic on Shaun Wright Phillips and Jamie Mackie is shining again."

Don't forget, if you'd like to air your views during the second half, email Raz...that's me! at razwan.mirza@bskyb.com or Tweet me: @RazMirza and I'll publish as many as I can.

QPR are now 5/4 to claim victory with our friends @SkyBet, who make Aston Villa 3/1 and the draw 6/4. My pre-match prediction of 1-1, which was priced at 11/2, is now 3/1. Head now to SkyBet to place your bets.

HALF-TIME: Referee Howard Webb blows his whistle and we're level going into the interval. After dominating the opening minutes, Harry Redknapp's side were hit by Brett Holman's first goal for Aston Villa, but the hosts hit back through Jamie Mackie's sweet header. Shaun Wright-Phillips was unlucky when he struck the post. There were concerns towards the end of the half as Stephane Mbia was stretchered off after colliding with Gabby Agbonlahor in an innocuous challenge.

45+7
The ball into the box is missed by Benteke and Baker which allows QPR to break.

45+6
Barry Bannan finds Eric Lichaj, but his cross is cleared for a corner. Possibly a late chance for Villa in this half.

45+5
Now Baker is penalised for climbing over Mackie which gets a few ironic cheers.

45+4
Benteke fails to hold the ball up and Mackie is caught offside, although replays show he was level with Clark when the ball was played.

45+2
Armand Traore's ball into the box is slammed clear by Nathan Baker.

45+1
We're into 7 (SEVEN) added minutes of stoppage time at Loftus Road.

45
CHANCE! Villa lift the ball into the box and the header down falls to Brett Holman, but the goalscorer blasts over the crossbar.

44
Jamie Mackie - who has started four of the last six games - is working his socks off.

43
It's sad to hear the boo boys directing their anger at Agbonlahor because he couldn't really get out of the way.

42
Both teams are now giving the ball away in a messy period of play.

41
Villa break through Gabby Agbonlahor, who is booed by the home fans for his part in the Mbia incident, and he attempts a curler which is palmed away by Green.

Nigel Francis says: "Great commentary Raz!!....i am stuck at work but feel like I am at the game......come on you Superhoooooopsaaaaaa!!!!"

39
SUBSTITUTION: Shaun Derry replaces Stephane Mbia then and the game is back underway.

38
The Cameroonian is being stretchered off the field and both sets of fans clap him off. Let's all hope he recovers quickly and it's not too serious.

36
Both teams of medical staff are on the pitch giving Mbia some attention. It was a strange incident, but the player won't be continuing.

34
CONCERN AT LOFTUS ROAD: Stephane Mbia collides into Gabby Agbonlahor and he is down receiving medical attention.

33
OFF THE POST!!! Shaun Wright-Phillips is so unlucky as he gets away down the right, but his right-foot shot strikes the base of the post.

32
Adel Taarabt's cross is headed away with players coming in at the ball from all sorts of different angles.

31
Samba Diakite works his socks off to win his side a corner and the noise picks up.

30
IMPORTANT SAVE!!! Shaun Wright-Phillips is put clear from Granero's pass, but Brad Guzan comes out to make a super block and deny him a certain goal.

29
Villa have won just once in 15 Premier League away games, but they're playing like a confident side here.

28
Now Diakite finds Shaun Wright-Phillips, but he's caught offside despite looking across the line.

27
At the other end Christian Benteke gets away from Clint Hill, but is quickly closed down as he looks to get his shot away.

26
Esteban Granero tries to thread the ball through for Mackie, but Ciaran Clark intercepts.

25
Villa are not settling for a draw though because they're coming forward themselves. Excellent pressure from Jamie Mackie though as he wins the ball back for his side.

24
There is no hiding in this game and the scoreline is just about fair so far.

23
Barry Bannan's corner is high and easily collected by Rob Green.

22
Christian Benteke is brought crashing down by Clint Hill, but the striker is showing good skill and strength in this match. He now wins his side a corner.

21
OFFSIDE! Villa think they are back in front, but Christian Benteke is ruled to be in an offisde position. Replays show the assistant got it right, but it was tight.

Delightful equaliser by QPR and well deserved too. Jose Bosingwa finds Samba Diakite and he dinks the ball in the box for Mackie whose header finds the far corner. Picture goal!

19
GOAL: JAMIE MACKIE!!!

18
The inswinger is dealt with well by big Nathan Baker at the back, but Rangers are back on the ball.

17
Armand Traore wins QPR another corner and again they play it short. The ball defelcts away for another one though.

Sky Bet make QPR 5/2 to come back and win after making the worst possible start, while Villa are evens to win now.

16
Excellent build-up play from Villa down the right ends in Eric Lichaj thundering his effort over the crossbar.

14
Samba Diakite lashes his right-foot shot high, wide and handsome. That gets a cheer from the Villa fans who are packed in the corner.

13
Adel Taarabt's outswinger is guided wide of the far post by Stephane Mbia.

12
Well, Rangers' fans have quietened down since the goal, although the noise soon picks up as Baker hammers clear for a corner.

11
QPR defenders are dropping deep as Christian Benteke wins his side a corner.

10
Contrasting emotions from the two managers on the bench and Villa are now dominating the play.

A memorable moment for the Australian who scores his first goal for the club and what a goal it was too! He collects Ashley Westwood's pass about 27-yards out before unleashing a cracking left-foot effort past Robert Green, despite the goalkeeper's best efforts to keep it out.

8
GOAL: BRETT HOLMAN!!!

7
Matthew Lowton seems to be struggling with an injury as Christian Benteke fires his shot into Clint Hill, who stands firm.

Conor Lusted on Twitter: "Think harry has already made a huge impact for us since arriving. I think we should just about win this one. 2-1 to the Superhoops."

5
Rangers win an early corner as Villa stand firm. The atmosphere is pretty special inside Loftus Road this afternoon. They play it short and Nathan Baker heads away.

4
Bright start from both teams as Gabby Agbonlahor attempts to find Barry Bannan in the Hoops' penalty box, but the hosts manage to clear their lines.

3
Samba Diakite finds Jose Bosingwa who puts in a super ball from the right, but nobody gambles to reach the ball in the six-yard box.

2
Jamie Mackie wins an early free-kick for QPR, and the ball in is headed away well. Villa are back in possession and keeping a hold of the ball well.

1
Villa get the game underway then as Darren Bent watches on from the bench.

Jeff Watts: "Can you please start a debate on whether we should have Robbie Keane on loan in January...."

1459
There is now a minute's applause in tribute for former QPR boss Dave Sexton who died aged 82 last weekend.

1457
Harry Redknapp is introduced to the home fans and he gets a raucous ovation.

1456
The teams are out and we're minutes away from kick off at a packed Loftus Road. Villa are wearing their luminous green shirts and shorts while QPR are in their traditional home kit.

1454
Great comments fans. Keep them coming in during the match please. Email Raz...that's me! at razwan.mirza@bskyb.com or Tweet me: @RazMirza and I'll publish as many as I can.

Dave Birch says: "Hi Raz, tough one about selling Bent. Personally I'd keep him till the end of the season but if we do decide to sell him in January only a fool would sell him to a club in a similar position to where we are at the moment. This is undoubtably Villa's biggest game of the season, a battling win against Reading and I've a feeling we're going to sneak this one. Going for a 2-1 Villa win, With Agbonlahor scoring twice. QPR are a really poor side."

QPR are Evens to claim victory with our friends @SkyBet, who make Aston Villa 13/5 and the draw 5/2. Rs have scored just six goals in their last eight Premier League games at Loftus Road and won none of the last six (W0 D3 L3) so Villa to win to nil is a 5/1 shout. Rangers' Jamie Mackie is favourite to bag the first goal at 11/2. Meanwhile, Adel Taarabt is 11/2 and Esteban Granero is a good outside bet at 5/1 to score in 90 minutes and Shaun Wright-Phillips is an 11/1 shot to score first. Villa's Christian Benteke is 11/2 and Gabby Agbonlahor is 7/1 for the visitors. Brett Holman is 9/2 to score in 90 minutes while Barry Bannan is a decent shout at 22/1. The Hoops head into the game odds-on for the drop while Villa's troubles are reflected by a price of 12/5 for relegation. I'm going for a pre-match prediction of 1-1, which is 11/2. Head now to SkyBet to place your bets.

1444
I remember Savo Dave and his wonder goal in the League Cup final against Leeds at Wembley. Didn't the Villa fans call him Savo 'Missalotovic'!?

Dave, Villa fan in Leeds says: "Afternoon, having seen Benteke play he reminds me a lot of how Savo (Milosevic) played, plenty of chances but not a lot in the onion bag. Would like to see him on the bench in place of Darren Bent otherwise that's £24mill down the drain. As people say Villa are too big a team to go down, DB is too big a player to be wasted..."

Iain@TheGamingReview says: "Really bored of the Bent saga. Why is it such a shock that Benteke gets the place over Bent when he's playing so well for us?"

Jeff Watts is quick to make his point about Darren Bent: "The problem with Bent is he goes missing for 80 minutes of every game........."

1425
Eric Lichaj and Chris Herd come into Paul Lambert's starting line-up, while striker Darren Bent was named amongst the substitutes at Loftus Road, which is bound to be music to ears of Villa fans today.

1424
Villa will be happy to see that Djibril Cisse isn't playing because he has scored four goals in six Premier League appearances against them - more than against any other team in the competition.

1423
Robert Green starts in goal as expected after regular number one Julio Cesar failed to overcome a groin injury. It is the England international's first start since playing Manchester City on September 1, while QPR boss Harry Redknapp replaces Djibril Cisse with Shaun Wright-Phillips for his first home game at the helm.

QPR: Green, Traore, Hill, Nelsen, Bosingwa, Mbia, Granero, Diakite, Wright-Phillips, Taarabt, Mackie.

SUBSTITUTIONS: Derry, Ferdinand, Park, Cisse, Fabio, Hoilett, Murphy.

ASTON VILLA: Guzan; Lowton, Clark, Baker, Lichaj, Westwood; Bannan; Herd, Holman, Agbonlahor; Benteke.

SUBSTITUTIONS: Given, El Ahmadi, Weimann, Bent, Williams, Ireland.

REFEREE: H Webb (Yorkshire). (Matches 10, R2 Y39).

1417
Here come the teams...

Cian Hughes is first to write in via email: "Big Day here for QPR fans! facing the other strugglers Villa. It will be a tough game today and I think Harry will be strict. 2-1 QPR!"

1412
There have been a few reports in the press this morning that Bent will leave the club for a cut price £10 million. But would you Villa fans like to see him stay and hope Lambert gives him the opportunity to impress? And what about today's clash. Do you think your side can some away with an away win? Email Raz...that's me! at razwan.mirza@bskyb.com or Tweet me: @RazMirza and I'll publish as many as I can.

1410
For Aston Villa boss Paul Lambert all the questions surround whether or not Darren Bent will be included in his squad for the game. The England striker, 28, who has scored twice in nine league games this term is being kept out of the team by Christian Benteke, who bagged the winning goal at home to Reading in midweek. A result with took the Midlanders out of the drop zone with 13 points. A second win in consecutive matches could potentially move them up to 13th if other results go their way. Skipper Ron Vlaar could again miss out with the calf problem while Eric Lichaj should replace injured left-back Enda Stevens and Chris Herd could come back into the team following a knee injury. Lambert says Bent is being left out of the Villa squad for purely footballing reasons. Lambert was bombarded with questions about his future at the club at his pre-match presser. Lambert: "Have there been any enquiries for Darren Bent? No. Has he asked to be put on the transfer list? No. Is there a clause? That's not true. I'm not sure where that came from. I see what happens every day in training. I see with my own eyes what goes on."

1406
So Rangers fans do you think Harry will be your saviour? Let me know. And who would like to see coming in at Loftus Road in January? Email Raz...that's me! at razwan.mirza@bskyb.com or Tweet me: @RazMirza and I'll publish as many as I can.

1405
Rob Green is expected to continue to deputise between the sticks for Julio Cesar if he fails to revover from minor groin tear. Other than that, Harry Redknapp is hopeful his side can record their first Premier League victory of the season in his first home match as new boss. He kicked off his reign with a scoreless stalemate at fellow strugglers Sunderland in midweek. Loftus Road is bound to be rocking and Redknapp said: "We've got to give the fans something to cheer; a good performance with plenty of effort and play our football. You look at the league table it's going to be tough. The atmosphere is going to be important. It's not about me - it's about picking up three points if we can; moving off the bottom and certainly getting closer to the pack. It's a big, big game." Redknapp also distanced himself from reports linking Rangers with moves for Darren Bent, Joe Cole, Loic Remy and David Beckham in January with owner Tony Fernandes ready to splash the cash.

1401
If you'd like to air your views before or during the match, email Raz...that's me! at razwan.mirza@bskyb.com or why not Tweet me: @RazMirza and I'll publish as many as I can. So let's get the banter going people!
