Rovers boss Dean Saunders is waiting on midfield duo David Syers and Martin Woods for the visit of the Sky Blues.
Syers is struggling with an ankle injury while Woods has a thigh problem, and both face a late fitness test.
Centre-half Jamie McCombe is fully fit following a back injury and a virus, and could be handed a starting role.
Winger Kyle Bennett should also be available despite admitting to a series of injections recently to help a troublesome knee problem.
Saunders has no other injury or suspension worries.
Last weekend's draw at Swindon saw Doncaster move joint top of the standings with Tranmere as they extended their unbeaten league run to five matches.
The visitors are without Carl Baker through suspension. The midfielder picked up his fifth booking of the campaign to trigger a one-match ban as Coventry thrashed Walsall 5-1 last weekend.
Baker has scored six goals in his last seven appearances, including a brace against the Saddlers, and will be a big miss for Mark Robins' side. John Fleck and Adam Barton are in line to replace him.
The Sky Blues, who have lost just one of their last 10 games in all competitions, are also without on-loan striker Callum Ball, who chipped a bone in his foot during training.
Striker Callum Wilson and midfielders Conor Thomas and Conor Henderson have all returned to training following injury but are not expected to make the trip to Yorkshire.
